Can't get a break..-update

Hi ladies,

So I got a call from the doctor yesterday about the report genetic and chromosome report as to why the baby died. For the past 8 weeks everyone has been helping me get through this by saying "if there was something wrong with the baby then maybe it was meant to be" or "you wouldn't want a baby with a servere physical or mental disability that would need medical help and all". I was just starting to process this.

Well yesterday I got a call that the genetic and chromosome report came back and everything was perfectly normal and this baby would have been healthy :( I am so devasted again. I felt like that was a knife to the heart. On top of that one of the reports came back "normal" which now they have to do a special blood test on me and ship it to a lab in Tennessee. They will see if it shows positive or negative. If it's positive then I could have a blood clotting disorder and then I will have to immediately be put on blood thinners during my pregnancy. If it comes back negative, then this was truely just a fluke and this healthy baby just naturally died.

I'm all upset again, because everyone had tried to convince me that something was probably wrong with the baby, and now I find out that it was perfectly fine. Infertility sucks. Sorry I had to vent. I will update late next week when I find my results of this test. I go in Monday morning for this blood test and will find out later next week.

****update. So the doctor called and All the tests came back negative except for one which came back borderline, so as to take precaution, the doctor wants me to start blood thinners when my next cycle starts, but did say that it's so low, and that's NOT the reason why the baby died. It also means that if i get pregnant and choose not to go on blood thinners, nothing should happen to the next pregnancy. However, my husband and I both feel that if the doctor is advising is to do this, then that's what we will do. Just wanted to update you all.

Thanks again for all your support. My next transfer should be the end of July. I missed the opportunity for the June one because my period has been so late after the D and C.

I know it seems so tough right now, but there is a silver lining... If there was something chromosomal wrong with the baby, then it likely would have meant genetic testing for you and your DH. Possible PGS or PGD testing. Knowing your baby was healthy means you will likely have a healthy baby in the future.

Sorry... Much luck!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm sorry. I suggest immune testing if you haven't done it already.

Can't get a break..

I have been silently following your experience and I just wanted to say that I am truly sorry. I lost a baby at 27 weeks. I too was having a healthy pregnancy, and when they checked the baby after she passed, everything was normal as well. I have tried to rationalize about why it happened and that maybe something was wrong. But unfortunately, things like this do happen as unexplained and awful as they are. Just have to move forward and I personally am one that believes everything happens for a reason (even if we don't know it). Better news though....my rainbow baby is now almost three months....so things do and will get better! But it did take a bit of time.

My friend's daughter lost her first baby at 35 weeks due to a clotting disorder. It was so devastating. But, she just gave birth to a son a few weeks ago. She was closely monitored and had to be on meds, but the good news is is that everything turned out wonderful and now she has a beautiful baby boy!

Things will get better and I hope to hear that you are blessed in the next few months!

So sorry you're going through this. Sending positive thoughts your way!! I recommend immune testing, also. I've had two miscarriages and they only did all RPL testing after multiple losses, but they did find something in mine.

Thank you for sharing your story and your friends daughter story. It's the most horrible thing to loose a baby. I appreciate your kind words and telling me positive advice that things will get better. I believe it but we jus let keep getting bad, and sad news. It just feeling like when will we get a break. I know with all sadness comes something happy, we know we will have a baby, we have to keep faith!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
