Cord Blood/Tissue Banking

I know its been asked a million times, I went back and read some old posts, but hoping for some updated info.

Pros and cons of cord blood/tissue banking please!!!

Did you do it? Will you do it?

What is the difference between banking and allowing the cord to continue pulsing after birth to deliver the stem cells to baby that way?

I feel like we need to make a decision very soon and I'm just so torn. Research doesnt seem fully there yet

I didn't do it. I wasn't sure either and asked my doctor who said if he were me, he'd save the money for college over this. I did some research last year and it basically seemed pointless. Like cord blood could only be used for so few diseases and often not on the child whose blood it is. To be honest, I don't even remember all the facts I found I just remember that between the facts and my doctors advice I was extremely confident in my decision not to do it. A lot of the information our there is from cord blood collection companies or is highly scientific in nature and difficult to understand. Do you have a pediatrician picked out, if so, ask them their opinion.

I planned to do the cord/ tissue banking. Once I found out we were having twins, that went out the window. I don't have an extra 6k, I saw a post about delayed cord clamping and read on it and plan to research that.
