Feedback from preschool teachers
Just wondering what level of feedback is typical? I know the timing is silly considering the school year is over but still curious. Dd1 went two half days so not a lot of time but I'm feeling disappointed in the lack of feedback through the year. I know she is ahead in some areas and behind in others but her teacher never commented on anything.

Feedback from preschool teachers
Dd1 just finished the 2s. We had two parent teacher conferences throughout the year we got to sit with them and discuss what was going on. If I ever had any questions or issues they were always a phone call or email away.

Feedback from preschool teachers
DD's school gives "report cards" twice a year and has one parent teacher conference.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
DD just finished her 3 year old class, which was also 2 half days a week. We got one report card in May. It was basically a checklist of tasks, that either they had mastered, were making progress with, or weren't able to do, and a short paragraph of comments.

Feedback from preschool teachers
my son was in a similar class at that age- just 2 or 3 AMs a week. his school did a conference sometime in the winter where the teacher went over a checklist/screening type thing that she did with him and how he was doing in different things. BUT his pre school is also a co-op, where i was in there once or twice a month doing my turn as the teacher's helper. SOO his teacher and i would talk a little bit on those days, too. or i would at least see first hand how he was doing with the stuff they were doing

We just got the end of year evaluation yesterday. We also get a mid-year report in the winter.

This was my situation also. And I should add, her teacher did say she didn't really like doing report cards bc it's not a sure fire measure of a child's ability. Because they're only in school for such a limited amount of time (5 hours a week), she might just not be observing whether or not they can actually do something. I'm sure if there were any true concerns though, you'd know about them, but I totally get your curiosity!

Feedback from preschool teachers
Interesting. I'm not sure I would expect report cards or conferences but there was literally no feedback. I brought up possible fine motor concerns. The next day they said she seemed fine and that was that. In April I brought up gross motor concerns and they said yeah, they had just been talking about that but I don't know if they would have brought it up if I hadn't asked. On the other hand there are some areas where she really excels. At her cpse evaluation they were really impressed with how she scored on some tests and how she needs to be challenged and I was wondering whether her teacher really even noticed that kind of thing either. I feel like I had one year to choose her school and maybe I blew it.

Feedback from preschool teachers
My son is 3 and I got almost daily feedback from his teacher. Then again, he's a bit of a PITA in the class at times, so that may be why. Lol

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
My daughter just finished 2s program and we didn't get any feedback either. I didn't really think anything of it but now that I saw your post, I'm actually surprised. I know they definitely would've reached out with any issues but feedback would've been great. Considering how much we pay, it's the least they could do.

Feedback from preschool teachers
My youngest just finished the 3's program and my twins just graduated the 4's. We had 2 parent teacher conferences through the year and if there was an issue they called us or spoke with us after class.

Feedback from preschool teachers
My son just completed a 2's program, 2 days a week in the mornings. The teacher would address things as they came up. They do not do report cards or formal parent teacher conferences for 2's. I was told once he is in the 3's class they will begin those.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
DD did a 3s program, 2 days a week, half day and we never got feedback either. This past year, in her pre-k, 3 day a week class we had one parent teacher conference in February.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
We had a conference where they did a report card (using scissors, letter, color, number recognition). They also did something. Where they gave directions on a coloring page and they did it again in June to compare. We got another report card at the end.

Feedback from preschool teachers
DS1 just completed a separation class, 2 hrs a day, 2 times a week. We never really had a report card or a pt conference but here and there his teacher would informally tell us how good he was doing or if he needed to work a little extra on something.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
My DS just finished a 2's program. He was there 2 full days a week. We got a "report card" in November and one about a week ago. As others mentioned it's just a checklist of skills they can/can't do or are working on, plus a few sentences from the teacher.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
DD had 2 parent teacher conferences and they had a checklist they would review with us, once in the beginning of the year as a sort of this is what she should be able to do at the end of the year and then one near the end to review how she did this year. Also, if there was an issue the teacher would talk to me or whoever it was picking DD up.

Re: Feedback from preschool teachers
Our daycare has a conference half way through school year - starting with 2 year old room. There is a whole report what number can they count up to. How they are doing with number shapes color recognizance, coloring writing.
