Elective ultrasound places
Just curious if anyone can recommend a good elective ultrasound place. I'm 19 weeks and would like to go and possibly have 3 images also to confirm gender. I was told girl based on panorama results but afraid it's not really a girl after getting so attached.

Elective ultrasound places
if you are 19 weeks, why don't you wait until your 20 week appt at your regular OB and have them tell you? Also, if the panorama told you girl, it's through bloodwork and won't be incorrect. You're having a girl

The bloodwork is much more accurate than the ultrasound. Plus why would you not just wait till your anatomy scan next week?

Re: Elective ultrasound places
I agree at this point just wait until next week when you should have your anatomy scan. They should be able to confirm then.
I can relate though to having a hard time believing the NIPT test results. I also was told girl, and after two boys, I had fears that it was a mistake. I even got a copy of the test results from my doctors office to see it in print. I have researched and these tests are very highly accurate (like 98/99%).
I had to have an additional sonogram at just under 16 weeks, and the tech confirmed she is a girl. I'm still waiting for my anatomy scan next week to really 100% believe it. It really helps a lot to actually see it for yourself!

Elective ultrasound places
My next appointment isn't until July 18 for my anatomy scan and was thinking I would like to experience a 3D/4d scan. But looking for a good place reasonable prices. Figured my boys would love it and really connect when they can see 3D/4d

They don't really recommend those 3-D/4-D scans until you're further along. I had one at 20 weeks at my anatomy scan and they couldn't get a good picture. She told me to come back around 30 weeks but I never did.

Re: Elective ultrasound places
I had one done at 16 weeks in ronkonkoma. It was 3 years ago but I'll look for the card and see if I can remember for ya. She only turned on the 3D part for a little and I got one picture, but my dd looks really strange in it bc I was so early. She was really good though.

Elective ultrasound places
I had mine done at fetal photos by cara in centereach. They wont do them though until at least 30 weeks. It was $160 for a video of the entire session, all still images on disc, 3 printed photos, a picture frame and a teddy bear with the baby's heartbeat recorded inside it.

Right, it depends. If you simply want gender confirmation, you could go now. If you want tru 3D pics of the baby, you need to wait until 30+ weeks.

That's SO cool! Totally worth the cost!

Re: Elective ultrasound places
I am so surprised to hear that there aren't many places that do elective US on NY! I never inquired with my first pregnancy when I was living in NY, but I have been thinking about it for my second. There is a place that will do elective US anytime after after 8 weeks. Super cute packages and I think it's pretty affordable... Catch it is in MA where I live now. Plans to visit Boston anytime soon?

It's not that they won't do it- it's that the 3D/4D doesn't come out good that early in the pregnancy. They look like topographical maps IMO. I actually see tons of ultrasound places around in Queens/Manhattan.

Re: Elective ultrasound places
I went to impact medical technologies in Hicksville at 17 weeks bc my husband had work when my 20 week ultrasound and screen was. Small office but the man was very very nice. Spent lots of time with us and the gender was easily noticeable on the flat screen TV. I think it was 55 dollars for the basic gender package - we didn't take home the pics bc I wasn't really interested in that. He let us see 3D/4d and snapped pics off the screen.
