Re: Puppies for Dummies

I got this when I first got Abby when Jenn reccommended it to me. I used it along with a breed specific book and got so many tips and help I didnt know about, even after researching abbys breed and dogs in general for over a year.

I second it for anyone with a puppy.

Definitely a good book! There are also breed specific books that I recommend people pick up - preferably before you get a dog but they can help out afterwards too.

Re: Puppies for Dummies

I def. recommend reading any kind of book that helps you when you first get a puppy. I had NO CLUE before I got Molly and all of those books really help.

Re: Puppies for Dummies

well i picked it up because the dog my family had previously was a nightmare..

she was never trained appropriately...

so i wanted to get a heads up on all the little do's and don'ts

so i saw the book and the neurotic freak in my bought it

it was the best thing i did..

although i did buy a Min Pin book as well..
which i think is also extremely vaulable

sometimes i think that people pick a dog for the way it looks not thinking that the dog historically has a disposition that is pretty common with the breed

many issues that naturally come with owning a specific kind of dog

and i just think that if more people picked up some helpful books...

a lot of issues, not all, but a lot of things might not come as an utter shock

There is a particular person or two that really should read it. They are truly 'Dummies".
