The Four Seasons NYC updated with report
Just read this iconic restaurant is closing at this location (not sure if they have a place picked to relocate). Was thinking to go for my birthday, as native NY'ers to experience it before its gone. Prices are
Is it worth it? Stories please. Dress code???
update: we went and really enjoyed it. the food was delicious. service outstanding. people watching was super.
BUT!!!
here's a shocker. a few days after we went, i checked my bill and compared it to the receipt. they overcharged us $45! we tipped in cash and scratched off the tip line. dh called the manager who apologized and credited us back the money. but you have to wonder, since the restaurant is closing, and people going in there are filthy rich, are they trying to get over knowing people don't look??? well shit i aint rich and i'm looking!!

Re: The Four Seasons NYC
We looked at it to host my last company's holiday party years ago. Honestly I wasn't that impressed. I am sure the food is good but there are 1000 good restaurants in the city. And it wasn't like it was unbelievably beautiful or had something totally unique like windows on the world or something like that. Personally my favorite restaurant is Bouley and if you are going to spend the money I would go there!

Never been to Four Seasons (I thought you were talking about the hotel chain to be honest) but I second Bouley!

The Four Seasons NYC
The Pool Room is beautiful (this time of year they will probably have cherry trees). The food is good, but not amazing, and not worth the price, IMO.

Re: The Four Seasons NYC
It was good, the pool room is beautiful. I've been only twice, but I was not blown away either time, especially considering the prices and the hype.
But it is a NY icon so if it's somewhere you've always wanted to go I would def do it!
Dress code is pretty upscale IIRC. Guys need a jacket.

The Four Seasons NYC
This is my husband's favorite restaurant. I agree the food isnt amazing but then again, i dont think the food is at these types of places. Even the food at Daniel isnt amazing and that will set you back $500 per couple. I think what sets Four Seasons apart from other restaurants is the service, atmosphere and the fact that its an iconic establishment. I would definitely make reservations if you can.

Re: The Four Seasons NYC
Thanks to all for your input!! I really appreciate it. I'm leaning towards booking but will discuss with dh in a few. The prices are knocking my socks off.
Will let you know the outcome!
