Jennifer Aniston says she's ‘fed up’ with pregnancy rumors, pens scathing essay slamming motherhood expectations
Jennifer Aniston had a not-so-friendly message for her persistent baby bump watchers.
"For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up," the 47-year-old wrote in a strongly worded essay penned for the Huffington Post on Tuesday.
"I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism,' the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news,'" she continued.
The "Cake" stunner, who has long been the subject of pregnancy rumors, blasted the scrutiny of being motherless and the societal pressure to have children.
"I have grown tired of being part of this narrative," she wrote. "We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child."
"We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone," she continued. "We get to decide our own 'happily ever after.'"
Aniston — who married "Leftovers" actor Justin Theroux last year after dating for four years — confessed she hasn't ruled babies out down the line. Still, she stressed a decision to extend her family line wouldn't be because she's "incomplete, unsuccessful or unhappy" without motherhood.
The rare commentary from the private actress — who doesn't even have any social media accounts — comes roughly a month after In Touch magazine ran a cover story with the headline "Jen's Finally Pregnant!"
The glossy piece was based on bikini photos of an apparent burgeoning belly.
"I resent being made to feel 'less than' because my body is changing and/or I had a burger for lunch and was photographed from a weird angle and therefore deemed one of two things: 'pregnant' or 'fat,'" Aniston retorted in her piece.
The actress urged women to ignore the impossible standards the media creates by reflecting the "warped way we calculate a women's worth."
"We get to decide how much we buy into what's being served up, and maybe someday the tabloids will be forced to see the world through a different, more humanized lens," she concluded.

She's so right. The fact that here is no middle
Meaning you're fat or pregnant
Your married or not complete etc
She is a gorgeous talented. Successful woman all on her own. Anything else is icing on the cake

I think a lot of people really "want" her to be pregnant and that fuels the fire for the rumors. She must be so tired of hearing it.

I think a lot of people really "want" her to be pregnant and that fuels the fire for the rumors. She must be so tired of hearing it.
Agreed. I think it *mostly* comes from a good place, but certainly not always. I mean the magazines are just doing it to make a buck, but as far as fans, I think they just genuinely want her to be happy- though it's true that most people can't seem to see "happy" as anything but married with children. Good for her- it truly must be exhausting!

Good for her! I LOVE her and I wish everyone would just LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!
Celebrity or not, I'm SO tired of the "are you pregnant"..."why not?" comments that my friends get and we used to get!

Yes! I love her (she's actually my fav actress) and her hubby, I wish she was pregnant because I know the joy that my little ones brought to my life but I def understand having a child can't be forced, if it happens it's because that person is ready and actually wants to have a child.

I am glad she said something.
God Forbid she eats a big lunch or is bloated from PMS they start announcing she is pregnant like it's God's word.
I'd be SOOOO upset if people looked at my stomach and assumed I was pregnant.
How rude.
Truly truly disgusting.
Add to that the fact that people need to stay out of other people's uteruses
It's such a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
