Pediatric dentist
I have not taken my 3 year old autistic son to the dentist yet. I am petrified of how it will go. He is barely verbal and tantrums pretty often.
My twins go to a pediatric dentist and they have been fine but pretty sure the dentist is not a special needs dentist. What do you all think? Bring my little one there and just explain and hold him and hope for the best? Wait until he's 4 to go? Try to find a pediatric special needs dentist?
We are in Queens. Any advice?

Re: Pediatric dentist
The more you take them to the dentist, the better they become. My son has Autism, and everytime I pulled up top the dentist, I would have to drag him out of the car. We had to hold him down just for cleanings. We went every 3 months to desensitize him, and I did social stories. We still go every 3 months, and now he sits in the chair all by himself. We came a long way. The more you expose them, the better they will be.
