Re: Facebook pet peeves
Oh my God, do you have 3 hours? Because there are so many.
Definitely the endless selfies from anyone over 30.
Non stop hashtags Especially: #whentheyarelonglikethisandyoufeelilliteratetryingtoreadtthem
A close second on the hastag front is when they are broken them up like this: #don'tmind #mymessy #hair
The need to post the mundane things. I had someone last week post: I'm out of butter. I can't believe it My son wanted toast. He's so upset. Really? I feel so fuking bad for you.
The checking in everywhere. Costco. Shoprite. The last stall on the left at the Target bathroom.
As others mentioned the attention seekers- checking into an ER than not saying why or replying to anyone. A cryptic status like- "my whole world just crashed down around me today" and not elaborating. If you want privacy, here is a tip- DON'T POST ABOUT IT. Easy peasy!
Any use of the following:
On fleek (i gag just typing that.) I get an overwhelming urge to do physical violence when I see that term
That view though... That @ss though... That ANYTHING though. Just state you like the view, the @ss, whatever. No need to try to sound cool and end up sounding so freaking basic
Those GOD awful, so obvious beauty apps. Not a simple filter. The ones that change your whole face. Like you suddenly don't have a nose because it's so blurred out. It's like bad photoshop to the 10th degree. I always read the comments when I see those to see if anyone calls the person out for it - like, "did you use some odd app on that pic? Because I don't recognize you at all and your forehead is distorted" But nobody ever does....
Selling your bulllshit, direct marketing, pyramid scheme crap. "Who wants to lose 20 lbs by Friday, feel great, have more energy, better sex and NEVER get cancer? I am looking for 10 people willing to take the challenge with me! Message me if you are in!"
I am sure there are more!

Re: Facebook pet peeves
I don't have too many; and I definitely do some of the pet peeves that are listed, so please don't be terribly offended by my pet peeve lol!
I am extremely bothered when people post videos of themselves working out.

Facebook pet peeves
Grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
Posting memes, particularly political ones, without taking 5 seconds to see if it is true.
Vaguebooking - "I swear some people just make me so mad." Then they lie in wait for people to ask what's up and they claim "oh nothing...."
Couples who fight on FB - talk shit about one another, unfollow and then re-follow each other and continue the cycle
Selfies - people who keep posting them over and over and over again. Like GFY
Sanctimommies - the parents who feel THEIR way is the ONLY way and post judgemental status updates about others

I agree with most of these. What does "on fleek" mean?

Read this, it's very informative. But I am warning you, once you know, you can never unknow it and you will lose IQ points.
What does "on fleek" mean
However, I prefer the urban dictionary definition to be honest:
On Fleek

Who makes up this stupid crap? And worse, who perpetuates it? Bad enough someone came up with "on fleek' but who are the dumbasses that keep it going?? (No offense) I blame social media lol.

Maybe I am a bit cold, but I cannot stand when people post messages to their deceased loved ones. I don't think heaven has Facebook. I would rather a post about a special memory with that person, not a whole page of a conversation you are having in your mind.
I agree with the political memes, too many selfies, etc.

Yes, it's creepy. And I hate to say it but just reeks of attention seeking. Get a journal. It's like "I really miss my grandmother, hey, I know let me just log into fb even though she's been dead since 1987 and doesn't even know what a computer is and pen her a 3 page letter so all my friends and all their frieds will know I'm suffering". It's no different than the 3am check-ins at the hospital, or the passive aggressive "some people pretend to be your friend but are really such backstabbers" then sitting and waiting for the questions, likes, and commentary.

Re: Facebook pet peeves
Thank god I don't get half the stuff that you people get.
I don't get too annoyed by things, but these:
-I have a cousin that seems to announce when a family member dies before anyone has a chance to know. It will say RIP their name. And all the comments are numerous what???s. I let it slide when he did it for his own brother, but he does it for everyone.
-Lovey dovey crap. My husband is the greatest, blah blah. I had someone do this and they got divorced in a few years.
-My life is so great #livingthedream. Yes, I have someone who does this
-Too many pictures of kids.
-Challenges and post a pic for 7 days.
-Repost this as your status for one hour- I bet you won't.
-old people using FB when they clearly don't know how to use it. My 80 year aunt seems to think the share button is the like button.
Political stuff, food pics, and vacation pics don't bother me.

I don't mind this, but if your profile is private, then it's clear you don't understand hashtags.

Re: Facebook pet peeves
I don't have that many - most people I know are fairly chill.
But here are somethings that are irritating:
People that mourn the death of every friggin celebrity, from Chyna Doll to David Bowie and everyone in between.
People that only post about how annoyed they are at (fill in the blank) every day.
And people who post that whole spiel about cancer; you know, the whole "leave this as your post for one hour in honor of someone that passed away, is fighting or is a survivor". Honestly no cancer patient or survivor that I know - and at this point, I know LOTS of them! - likes that post. It is actually a painful thing to see at times and a better way to honor someone that is still alive is to check in with them. Leave them a funny picture on their FB. Shit like that. The copy-and-repost is useless.

Re: Facebook pet peeves
Another one my mil does this. Finds some random meme about losing a parent or loving your children/grandchildren/neighbors children and post "this is so true" every time.
But she's not as bad as her sister who takes all her kids shots of their kids and makes it her profile pic. Drives her kids nuts

Re: Facebook pet peeves
I personally don't like when people post pictures of birthday parties and thank all their friends and family for being there........ I've been on the side of that where I was a friend who wasn't invited, and didn't realize there was a party until I saw the post. SOMEONE Is going to have their feelings hurt. It's just never a good idea, in my opinion.

People with something obvious to prove.
#blessed #neverbeensohappy #livingthedream
And the tough guys. "If someone did that to MY child, I'd be in jail."
Yeah...'cause you love your kid so much more than we love ours. Or you're so much more of a violent sociopath. But be proud....

I think that's more of a saying
And I'm not a sociopath but in all seriousness if someone God forbid hurt my child and I was alone in the room with them. Well then yes. I would prob be in jail

Ugh I hate this! And you know it's to bring their post to the top of people's newsfeeds again. I guess they weren't getting enough likes and comments and needed it back at the top again.

I actually agree. But I meant saying it (complete with the emphasis on "MY")--in the context of having something to prove--like it distinguishes you (not YOU--one) from the rest of us. It's like sitting around with a group of moms and being like "But I REALLY love my child."
It's like #blessed. It's not like lots of us don't feel that way. It's the annoying people who feel compelled to say it on facebook because they think they're so different/tough/special/devoted...and they have to prove that to everyone else.
