Too Blonde
So I recently had my hair highlighted and I don't love it... I asked for blonder lighter hair BUT its too blonde, its def not what I envisioned... I expected maybe near my roots to blend a bit better... I expected more natural sun kissed look... And its just TOO platinum and then my natural color is so much darker I feel its that stripey look near the top roots of my hair that I HATE. I am not a zebra LOL I feel like I look like every other over bleached woman in my town. The kind that bleach it to an inch of its life. It LOOKS bleached. Where as previously it looked sun kissed... It wasnt like every other woman because I have dark dirty blonde hair naturally...
My issue is my stylist is on vaca for 2 weeks... so I cant even call her to ask her to fix it...
Is there anything I can do before then to tone it down? OR should I just wait and not even mess with it... I haven't colored my hair at home since I was a teenager LOL I'm just hating it so much right now.

Re: Too Blonde
Don't mess with it yourself. You'll regret it. Can you go to someone else at the same salon and tell them you need some lowlights added and a toner?

Re: Too Blonde
If you want to stay light and just hate the contrasting roots go back to the salon and ask for a base break. It will make the roots blend better with the blonde. I have naturally dark hair but very blonde highlights and look ridiculous if I don't get the base break.

Saturday...
That's a good idea I can do that. I can go to someone else. I know another stylist that is GREAT at color... Base break ok I will ask about that!
Thank you so much ladies!

You can try that purple shampoo/toner- I did that when I was too brassy and it calmed it down. They have it at Sally beauty Supply

Re: Too Blonde
Sounds like you need a toner.
I'd go back & tell them you washed it a few times, and it still hasn't toned down. Going gorward, I suggest getting Balayage. it is more of a natural look minus the consistent upkeep highlights require.

See, I HATE my balayage and am going back to highlights. Maybe it's my stylist but he's been doing balayage and toner and it's definitely too much. I love the dimension of highlights more than balayage, which is much more "natural" looking. My natural color just pulls too much gold and the balayage made me like a bleach blonde.

Same for me. I have fine hair so i NEED that depth and dimension of highlights. It really depends on your hair type too

Too Blonde
I usually do more a balayage. But decided to try something different. Go bolder and brighter.
I like the balayage as well cause its a bit funkier with my hair cut too..
But update i like my hair much more now. After a few washes and styling it myself i def like it a lot more... i wouldnt do it again and will def at some point just have my stylist tone it down especially for fall... so i may end up doing some low lights or something... ill talk to her in a week when shes back...
Thank you so much everyone for your suggestions!
