I don't drink and dh has a huuuuge whisky collection, so no. Poland spring is 3/$10 at fairway! And chicken breasts are like 1.69 but I paid 2.99/lb for thin slices because I'm lazy. I'm my own worst enemy

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon so best yet is the name of the store! I've never heard of it and I thought she meant it literally like best of all, I thought she was just really excited about her produce... lmao one of these days I've gotta learn to read.

Never heard of meat farms either.

We spend way too much especially with the prices at the local grocery store.
We give DD Horizon Milk with DHA, here is the price (not sure if the link works, but here is the url):

I agree with Best Yet- I actually forgot about it. Definitely the best cold cut deals, too. Not the same as my old place in Queens, though!

Re: Groceries

Everyone spends so little! I spend at least 300/wk for a family of 5. I try to buy on sale and I do buy organic. But I am amazed at how everyone spends so little.

We go to BJ's each week and at the minimum spend $100. If we need diapers, wipes that adds more to the weekly cost.

I've discovered which stores have best prices

Shoprite is good on can stuff (obv) and have some good cereal deals. Eggs are on sale a lot as well. I use most of my coupons here

Stop and shop has the cheapest frozen veggies. Always on sale and their brand is usually really good. Also, for some reason, they almost always have the cheapest Texas toast croutons (with sales) and salad toppers. Everywhere else it's $1.50 more

Best yet is where I get my produce. Least expensive and always tasty. They also seem to have the best deals on boars head cold cuts.

BJs - this is where I buy mostly all of my meat. I buy in bulk and separate into serving sizes using freezer zip locks. I buy other things like my multigrain sandwich rounds in bulk (I freeze them) I buy paper goods and laundry detergent here when there isn't a big sale going on going to target

Target has the cheapest progresso soup & blue diamond almonds. I buy target brand paper towels in bulk. I mean I literally have half a closet full of them. And I'll buy detergent here when they have their own coupon, I have manufacturers coupon and target is offering gift cards for buying it. I also get my Venus shave gel here (it's always under $3) and shop their sales using cartwheel.

No way I can do all this all the time. And the times I go to stop and shop (it's closest) to buy everything, I immediately regret it because I spend close to 30% more. But I know I'm paying for the convenience.

See, I feel like if I shopped like this I could save SO much more money each week. I just literally don't have the time to go to 5 different stores for different items. I find it hard enough to manage to get to one supermarket each week to grab our groceries. But I do agree that certain stores have much better deals on specific items than others. For example, I know when I buy meats at Shoprite I'm overpaying. I know I could do much better if I got them at Costco and portioned them out and froze them. Or for paper goods/laundry/cleaning products I am fairly certain I would spend much less at Target.

I totally get it.

It really only winds up being a few days of running around just to get it all started. 4-6 weeks worth of meat from Bjs/Costco. Stock up at shoprite for canned stuff. Stop & shop for veggies - you're in and out fast when only getting specific things.

Then weekly its just produce & dairy until the other stuff starts dwindling lol

But I really do get it. And I'm doing this myself. I don't have kids to bring with me.
