Pregnancy, Stress, and Depression

So I just turned 23 week this past Saturday. I've had a difficult pregnancy, in and out of the hospital, and blah blah blah. On top of that and having a 3 year old, and in the process of buying a house, it's as if it's one thing after another. Sick family members, people thinking they can sh*t on us, DH getting laid off, etc. I think I've officially hit a wall. I can't handle the stress anymore and I know for the sack of our baby I need to do something about it. I couldn't even get out of bed yesterday. Today I'm at work and I just want to crawl under my desk, with my door closed and escape reality. I've been having heart problems for the past few weeks due to all the stress and even asking people to not stress us out, it seems that it just keeps getting worse. It's as if every day I get a phone about something.

So my question is, what can I do? I have a cardio appointment tonight but my next OB appointment is next Monday. Would you wait or call your OB and see if you can come earlier? I REALLY don't want to go on medication for depression or anxiety while pregnant, especially since I probably have to go on something for my heart/BP. I work 50 hours a week, packing, taking care of a 3 year old, and having doctor appointments, I don't have time to add therapist to the list. I just need a good hug I think, or to vent, or just a good cry for the next 17 weeks or so!!

Call your OB today and tell them you have been feeling depressed. They should help you come up with a plan to keep you healthy and hopefully make you feel better.

I'm sorry you're going through this and hope it gets better or at the very least more manageable soon.

This. Don't wait. Call today.

And I know you said you don't have time for a therapy appointment, but maybe even 1 session might make you feel better just to let it all out!

Yes please call and let your doctor know how you are feeling. If you get a free moment at work try closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths. Do it in your car or even in a bathroom stall if you need privacy.
Sending you lots of hugs. Hang in there.

I'm sorry. It sounds like you have a TON on your plate right now. I agree with PP - call your OB today and get an appointment to talk to them about how you've been feeling.

Also, do you have anyone who can watch your 3 year old while you and DH spend a night just relaxing? It sounds like you both need a break from reality and just have a bit of down time. Go for a massage, have some dinner, even just watch a movie and vegg for a night if money is tight....just do something, ANYTHING, that might relax you a bit and take your mind off the stresses going on in your life.

Thanks ladies!

I WISH we would have someone to take LO but we just don't have that option. I was actually supposed to go to AC with my girlfriends tomorrow until Wednesday but I had to cancel because of numerous reasons. The irony was that this trip was supposed to help me distress and relax. O well!

Thanks for your help! I'm going to mention it to my cardio tonight and see what he has to say. I'll call my OB tomorrow if he advises.

Sorry you're having such a rough time right now. I agree about calling your OB.
There is so much going on in your life right now. See if there is ANYTHING you can possibly take off your plate right now. Maybe even something as simple as house cleaning! Hire a maid every 2 weeks. Find a local teen to be a mommies helper. Where you're in the house and can take a nap, break, read a book, eat a meal etc... in peace.

GOOD LUCK and FEEL BETTER!
