Spinoff - Cleaning Lady

For Those who get someone in every 2 weeks, do you clean the big stuff inbetween, or just straighten up ? Like clean floors, bathrooms, etc. or is it really just to save you 2 weeks per month of having to do it yourself.

Curious because I straighten up daily, but clean 2x a week. It's just DH and I and I work from home, so I have the time to.

Re: Spinoff - Cleaning Lady

Honestly I only clean as needed in between.

I'll clean up where my six year old left too many crumbs or aimed wrong and missed the toilet. Obviously I clean up after cooking.

This. The kitchen floor and bathroom seem to need most attention between.

We clean the floors and wipe down sinks/toilets and do a quick clean of the showers in between.

Re: Spinoff - Cleaning Lady

How do you guys keep your floors clean in between ( if you're not mopping)?

I'm obsessed with mopping my floors. We take our shoes off 90% of the time (DH forgets a lot) and I wipe the dogs feet every time they come in from outside. By the end of the week, my socks are dirty walking around. It makes me insane!!!!

Is there a trick the cleaning ladies are using to get them super clean that it can wait 2 weeks or by the time the 2 weeks are up, it's definitely time to do it

Toys I make my son clean up as needed. It is far from pristine every night, but when it gets bad toys go in their designated bins.

Clothes don't really lay around. We have hampers and/or baskets in all bedrooms for dirty clothes and a hamper in our laundry room on the first floor for any dirty clothes that somehow end up downstairs - like if my son takes off his socks right after getting home.

I do very minimal. I wipe down counters and kitchen table daily, but besides tidying up and putting things away I don't do any heavy cleaning, unless something gets unusually dirty.

Yup.

All of DD's toys are on her enormous play mat in the basement. The bigger stuff stays out and the small stuff goes in the toy chest. We do our own laundry, so clothes go in the hamper till the hamper is full and then we wash everything.

I used to need my bathroom cleaned every 5 days so yes i would clean between her coming here. Life has changed and i just let a lot more go now. I just cant keep up.

Im not like i used to be but if i was, yes the floors and bathroom would be cleaned between the cleaning lady coming evwry 2 weeks!

Now aside from daily straightening, trash, dishes, kitchen counter and laundry i dont do much.

Re: Spinoff - Cleaning Lady

We have cleaning lady weekly and we sweep daily, and vaccuum and mop every other day. Bathroom sink and toilet wiped everyday. Beds we make everyday. Toys kids have to pick up when done and laundry we have hampers but I try to put a load in daily/every other day
But my husband is also very neat clean so that helps a lot

Re: Spinoff - Cleaning Lady

We recently moved and since it's a much larger house we have our current girl come every week. In our previous house, we had her come every other week. With both scenarios, I clean in between as needed. If I have guests come over I wipe down the toilet seat after, I wipe down surfaces after meals, that sorta "light" thing. While I make the bed daily, I typically do not change the sheets myself (even when I had her coming every other week...).

I find if I don't do at least the bare minimum on a daily basis, it doesn't stay clean. We are in a pretty good rhythm now where I could tidy up well with 15 mins notice if I had to.

Yes. I clean in between. And by clean I mean keep the house tidy and vacuum. I do not dust or clean bathrooms. I do however, clean the kitchen every night after dinner. Sometimes better than others, but it never sparkles quite like it does when my cleaning lady comes.
