Daycare Reccomendations!
Hello! I am pregnant (so excited since I had an MC last year) and due on 2/23/17. I leave in East Meadow. I'll be taking off 12 weeks when the baby arrived, but then going back to work. I am looking for an affordable day care or nanny. I would love to be a stay at home mom, or have no issues with day care cost, but my husband and I will definitely be on a budget. If anyone could provide recommendations of affordable locations that would be great!!! I work in Roslyn and my husband works in Melville. My father may be able to watch 2 days a week (he lives in Wantagh), so i am looking for options for 5 days a week, 3 days a week and 2 days a week (if my mother in law can watch for one day, but I am not holding her to this). Thank you!!!

I've heard great things about the daycare in Eisenhower Park. Many people in East Meadow also use Big Chief. I think if you go with a center, you will need to do 3 days a week. I've been told that because of ratios, part time must be 3 days a week.

My friend hated Big Chief. We use (and love) Children's Nest in Merrick and Wantagh.

If you are considering locations closer to work, I LOVE Harbor Day Care in Mineola. I wouldn't call it affordable  but I don't consider most of them affordable.

Is there a rule about giving detailed (truthful, obviously) information about daycares? I don't mean this directed towards you, but I always see these cryptic types of posts about daycares and I feel like if a facility isn't doing what they're supposed to they SHOULD be called out.

My child doesn't go there but many of my coworkers' kids do. I would love to know what happened if you could share.

RE: Big Chief: I am happy to share minimal details but have no idea if this will get taken down at some point. A family members son went to school there, came home with numerous bite marks from another child. A few days in a row, different locations, the stories they were told didn't jive at all with how the bites looked and the story kept changing. Not only that but at My childs daycare u have to document everything, especially biting, and they weren't asked to sign anything at all or formally acknolwdge that something had happened. This is only one incident in a few things that happened...

PS I am pretty sure Big Chief is in litigation with a current family right now bc they wrote something on social media and BC claims its not true...
