New here
Hi Ladies,
I am new to this side of the board. I have a son and been TTC for over a year now. Went to a RE - did some testing and now my option is to do IVF.
I am petrified of it all! My first pregnancy came unexpected and natural. Healthy baby, Thank GOD!
I have to do PDG testing. Everything is getting set up.
Any do's/dont's? So scared of this whole process!

Re: New here
Can I ask what your diagnosis is that you're going straight to IVF?

Re: New here
Just want to say welcome! I also have one child, conceived naturally, and am currently doing IVF in hopes of having a second.
I dreaded IVF like crazy, but I have to say even though it's overwhelming at first (when that first big box of meds came I almost passed out), it's really not that bad once you're in it. Just take it step by step. The injections become second nature and you'll feel like a pro in no time.
I'm currently doing a freeze all cycle and will likely do another before sending out for PGD.
Good luck to you!

Re: New here
Yes, after not conceiving, we went to a specialist and they did genetic testing. Hubby and I both are a carrier for a very rare disorder. With that being said each pregnancy I carry, my future child has a 25% chance of getting that disorder.

Re: New here
Hi All, I am also new here - and in a similar situation to the two people here who conceived child #1 without difficulties. I have "age-related" infertility issues- though all my numbers are good and I make a lot of eggs. Also, I am also going the PGD route- although need to switch doctors due to my insurance only covering up to a certain amt with some- and a lot more with others. I didn't know that at the beginning- and paid for the genetic testing (I wanted to avoid issues with having a higher chance of miscarriages- for that reason in itself and as that would take a lot of time out of future "tries"). Anyway, I may need to stay where I am for one more cycle (did 1.5- one retrieval with 14 eggs- 9 fertilized only one made it to blast- an "AA" but wasn't genetically good). The second try was retrieval and transfer- with 21 eggs - 12 fertilized and one that was genetically good at day 5 blast. Sadly, that didn't work- so back to drawing board. Anyway, sorry for yammering away. it seems that it really is not so awful- once you get the handle of your meds- and hopefully are covered with meds (I was only for the first cycle- ouch). I wish you both here- noting you are TT#2 the best of luck!
