I did like it! I also DVR'd in case I fell asleep, but I was so into the show I ended up watching the entire episode. I will have to watch it again to see if I missed anything, but it was interesting. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

anyone watch Designated Survivor?
I liked it a lot but I kept expect Keifer to bust out into his Jack Bauer 24 character.
It was a bit lame when he asks what is a designated survivor. Really, what member of the cabinet doesn't know what that is. That was a bit unbelievable.

Not necessarily...the real HUD cabinet person as been the Designated survivor before...if you google it, there is a list of the events and designated survivors. Not complete, but really interesting. At some points there have been up to 4 designated survivors at one time.

Liked it a lot but I am a HUGE Kiefer fan. I still expect him to go all Jack Bauer and kill the terrorists lol. They did say that the designated survivor is usually someone low on the totem pole but you would think it would be the VP just in case.

It's a common story telling method. You have to assume the general audience doesn't know the term, so instead of having a voice-over, or a paragraph on-screen which wouldn't flow well, you have a person in the scene ask the question, so another actor can explain to the audience, without directly addressing the audience.
