Long Island RE Recommendations Please.. I don't know who to choose
Hi everyone,
I am trying to figure out who is the right RE for me to proceed with in the IVF Process. Has anyone had experience with the following doctors or recommend someone entirely different. 1) Dr. Palter - Gold Coast 2) Dr. Zapantis 3) Dr. Joseph Pena LIIVF 4) Dr. Beth McAvey - RMANY 5) Dr Mullin -Center for Human Repoduction. Please I desperately need some guidance from someone who has already been down this path. TIA!!!

Re: Long Island RE Recommendations Please.. I don't know who to choose
I saw Dr. Palter at Gold Coast IVF initially in 2012 and I got pregnant with my DD after only 2 IUI cycles. Fast forward 4 years and I am curently 8.5 weeks pg with baby #2 after an IVF cycle with PGS testing. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Palter and his staff is amazing. Good luck to you. If you have any specific questions, do not hesitate to ask. Feel free to pm me.

Re: Long Island RE Recommendations Please.. I don't know who to choose
I have my now 3 year old DD from Dr. Pena with LI IVF. Here are the facts: 1. It will take a few cycles to get through all the testing. This is because he is thorough. the day I was supposed to start stimming a test result came back he wasn't thrilled about and cancelled my cycle to do more testing. 2. He is not a warm or personable doctor. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand he is not the doctor for you. He is to the point. 3.If something comes up outside the scope of his field (genetic findings, MFM issues) he will send you to specialists. He will not proceed until he has absolutely every fact. 4. He is brilliant. Because of all of these things he felt prepared to give me a non-traditional protocol that ultimately got me pregnant on the first shot.

Long Island RE Recommendations Please.. I don't know who to choose
I saw Dr Palter at Gold Coast as well. I didn't need to go through IVF, my first IUI was successful, however after my initial screening and testing I was told due to DHs MFI issues, we would unlikely concieve without IVF + ICIS. DHs condition improved when he stopped smoking. Dr. Palter was always supportive every appointment I had with him, his office staff were amazing. I never felt lost during the process, I always had someone there guiding me and following up and answering questions, I didn't feel like I was in charge of my own care- meaning I didn't feel like I was forgotten about or needed to call them to get info on my cycle- they were always 10 steps ahead of me. The first protocol worked and I had my back to back IUIS and they were successful. I was devistated when I had to be discharged to my OB, nothing was better than their care. I recommend anyone to Dr Palter without hesitation. If we ever decide to have another baby I will go back without question

Long Island RE Recommendations Please.. I don't know who to choose
My RE who I had success with is in Manhattan so that doesn't help if you want LI.
As for the REs you listed above I have only been a patient of Dr. Zapantis. He was nice and I felt comfortable with him. However, I did not have success with him. I needed a RE who thought more outside the box. If you have any questions FM me.
Hopefully some other ladies will chime in about the REs above. I've heard about them all on here so there are definitely more ladies who have been their patients on here.
