Question for all of you....
How long did you wait until after stopping BC till you started to try to conceive...I mean, I stopped last month and we have been "practicing" but one of my friends said that we couldn't get pregnant for at least 3 months after I stopped taking BC. Not that I am in a rush but should we not even be trying yet--is it bad to try so soon after stopping BC? Can we get pregnant this quickly? Please keep in mind that I have my annual exam in 2 weeks in which I will tell my doctor what our plans are but I was just curious. I am new to this whole thing so I appreciate any advice you all may have....Thanks!!!

Depends on who you ask, some say wait, others say it's ok right off the pill. My doctor recommended I wait just until I get my first period after going off. She said there's no harm, it's just easier to get a due date/ know the time of conception.Either way, you'll be fine.

every doctor is different on this. I don't think there is any physical harm, but if something goes wrong, you have no track record of your cycles, ovulation, etc.
My doctor strongly believes that for trouble-shooting purposes, it is a good idea to have a few non-BC cycles before you actively TTC. but again, you ask 10 different doctors this and you will probably get 10 different answers.

I've heard in stays in your system for about a month but I asked my doc a year or so ago and she said as soon as you stop taking the pill you can get pregnant. Some docs recommend waiting, others don't but physically I believe its possible immediately.

See, I have always been so regular it is crazy...going on the pill never affected my monthly cycle...it always came the same time and lasted the same amount of days before and during taking BCP's. I know it sounds funny, but we have just been putting a star on each day that we BD on the calendar...I know...we are dorks!  I guess I will find out more when I go to my annual...hey, and practicing is fun anyway!!
