Does anyone do a 'Friendsgiving'?

We are hosting one this year, I am going to do the basics catered from Boston Market (don't knock it, it was great last year)

But any suggestions on some fun sides/desserts/drinks? Even games or stuff?

This is a group of gavones, lol, we did a party over the summer where everyone made something from Tasty and websites like that and it was super fun.

Re: Does anyone do a 'Friendsgiving'?

We have co-hosted Friendsgiving several times with another couple. They send out over the top invitations via email, and everyone must bring food donations for a local pantry. The food is usually all the usual Thanksgiving foods. We also have gone cheesy and made everyone go around and tell what they're Thankful for. Some are heartfelt and we're in tears, and some have had us laughing our a$ses off.

If it's all adults and no kids, definitely play Cards Against Humanity!

I'd love to have a Friendsgiving and no hate on the Boston Market. That's delicious!!!

You can make cranberry sangria for drinks. or I've seen things floating around for pumpkin rum drinks.

The parties I've been to have always been potluck so the sides and desserts are usually up to the guests.

For activities I would just do board games and a thankful tree. You let everyone write on a leaf what they are thankful for and you all paste it onto the tree!

Ooh these are all excellent ideas!! Thanks!! I am pumped! We don't have our kids so I was bumming out a little but now this is something to look forward to!

And re Boston Market, it's a dinner for 12 and is $125 including tax. SO GOOD AND CHEAPChat Icon Chat Icon

As long as the kids aren't sitting right there when you play, it's fine.
It's a bit dirty but nothing they would pick up on from another room
