dessert recommendations - Midtown
DH & I are going to friends house for dinner tonight and would like to pick up dessert. Does anyone have any recommendations in the midtown/fashion district area. I would love to be able to pick something up at lunch or on my way to Penn. It would save us some time since we won’t get off the train until 7.
Thanks!

Macaron Cafe on 36th between Broadway and 7th is great if you're into macarons.
Penn has a Zaro's bakery. It's convenient and pretty good (by the Amtrak waiting area) There's also a Magnolia Bakery in Penn now (by the LIRR)

Oh also there's a Paris Baguette on 40th and 7th.
I like food.

Thx for the suggestions. Maybe I'll go to Paris Baguette , it is around the block from my office. I read reviews on Magnolia in Penn and they were not good.

Really? They don't taste any different to me than any of the other Magnolias.

Yeah I think they are pretty good. Then again, I'm usually shoving one down my throat on the train after a night of drinking, so who knows!

The mini brownies in the to-go cup from au Bon pain are off the hooook! Not to bring to someone's house, but just an FYI for the LIRR girls
