Can anyone tell me how long stoney brook keeps you in for a delivery. Like if someone had a baby naturally today around 1:00

They should be out on Sunday. They keep you two nights for a vaginal. I had my first at 9pm and it was still just two nights.

Re: Length of hospital stay
Depends on you. I had mine at 4 am Sunday and was out by Monday afternoon. I could have left earlier had I not had my son circumcised.

Natural deliver insurance covers 2 nights. Unless you deliver after 9pm that first night won't count. They'll be released Sunday unless they get the ok to go home earlier by both ob gyn and baby's pediatrician.

Dd1 was born at 11:37pm on a Friday. We had the option to go home Sunday but insurance covered until Monday so I stayed. Insurance and hospital said if you deliver after 9pm that night doesn't count.

Really? I had DS2 at 10:47pm and Stony Brook told me that that night counted, both L&R and Maternity told us. With DS1 he was morning do that was def 2 nights.

Yeah we were basically kicked out of stony brook after 36 hours. We were actually trying to wait to see a specialist as our ped recommended but the nurses were pushing us out the door! With my second she was born at 1am so that night didn't count and since dd2 was in nicu they had me stay as long as insurance would allow. She was born 1am on a Monday (by cs) and I was discharged Friday afternoon I think.

Re: Length of hospital stay
I didn't deliver at Stonybrook, but I was told thatfor most hospitals it's two "midnights". So if you gave birth on Friday at 11:30 PM, you'd be out Sunday afternoon. If you gave birth Saturday at 12:05 AM, you'd be out Monday afternoon.

This was at Huntington hospital, but they specifically said it didn't count by insurance. I was covered through insurance for the next two nights too.
