If you shop and Costco AND BJ's

What does BJ's have that Costco doesn't. I know what Costco has and shop there regularly but I never go to BJS. Is there a difference ?

we have a Costco and Sam's Club membership. We dropped the BJ's one. I didn't care for their stuff.
I do prefer Costco out of all three

We have Costco and family has BJs. I greatly prefer Costco. BJs has a few things (found more brand names or different brands from Costco) but actually find them more expensive by $1-3 dollars for many identical items. BJs items tend to be slightly smaller sizes. Costco has much better clothing items and brands. I do go to both, but if I had to pick one it would be Costco hands down.

We have both (I am my mom's family member and DH is his dad's).

If we were to choose just one membership - it would be Costco.

BJ's you can use coupons and stack them with store ones. Very helpful.
I find more organics at my BJ's vs. Costco, espeically fresh produce.
The "bulk" packages are smaller at BJ's for a lot of the pantry items and I prefer that since I don't have a lot of extra storage space.
Those are my pluses.

I love BJ's!! I use to shop at Costco but once I had my kids I found that BJ's had more of the brands that I was using at the time for diapers, wipes, formula, etc. BJ's has a great bakery, really good prices, and they take manufacturers coupons on top of their own. You can also pay with ANY form of credit card whereas Costco use to only take specific ones when I was a member. We've been members for 8 years now!!

BJs has more organic options.
I also like that they accept more credit cards.

i went from sam's to bjs.... and then back to sams

bj's has a lot of their own brands, without coupons is not very cheap (and it's kind of a pain to follow the coupons when you aren't used to usign them at a wholesale club).

I couldn't find a lot of my "regular" stuff. for me that is : salsa tubs at $4-5, appetizers for parties, burgers for bbq's -- the selections overall sucked.

and sam's has an app where you scan as you shop -- pay when you are done with 2 or 3 clicks.... and walk out of the store with NO LINES

I like BJ's better for food shopping
Costo for everything else especially electronics / household stuff.

ETA: BJ's is a bit pricier than Costco, but still cheaper buying in bulk then individual at the supermarket.

I have both and prefer BJ's over Costco. They have a much larger selection at BJ's. I couldn't even find garlic bread at Costco today. Their cereal choices are slim pickings, they had no Kraft brand shredded cheese, etc. things I would find at BJ's with no problem. I like Costco for their non food offerings. Oh, and Costco no longer takes Amex, (I found out today...haven't been there in a while!) and they don't take MasterCard either (which is what my bank card is), so I won't be renewing my membership at the end of the month. I actually left my purchases there today since I had no way to pay and was completely turned off by them offering me a CC through them so I could pay for my purchases.

But one thing I like SOOO much better at Costco is their clothing/shoe selection.

I bought my Kamik snow boots there, they have actual Hunter Rain boots sometimes, they have the fake uggs that are great.

I have BJs and Costco. I like the food better at BJs and holiday, clothes, general house items at Costco.
