Has anyone done their kitchen in the winter?

I know most people do kitchen renos in the summer because it is easier being outside and grilling etc. Has anyone done it in the winter? Is it a nightmare? I'd be taking down walls. Not sure if I will need to move out for a month or attempting to live through it so I'm curious how much pain I would be in for!

I did, not going to lie it was not easy. It was cold and drafty when we took walls down, had contractors in and out, changed a door etc. Then when it snowed in January and they were cutting wood; ugh. We did live there with two very small children and it took a little over a month. We didn't have choice thought. Good luck

there's no good time for this much disruption!

We did a full gut of our main floor (including den, dining room and kitchen) from September - March and survived. Wasn't ideal - but was worth it. (DS was 2.5 at the time.)

I made due with a mini fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster oven...

OK good to hear. I'm thinking (hoping!) that not many people do it during that time so maybe they'll be quicker!

My parents did theirs in winter ands just set up an area in the living room with the fridge, coffee pot, microwave and some bins of essentials.
We are starting a reno right now directly over my kitchen closing in what's now a cathedral ceiling. I wish I'd taken the time to put more meals in the freezer before we started but I didn't have much warning. May be worth considering.
