Girl Scouts light show Suffolk - car seat related
Anyone been? We Want to take our 18 month old later. Can she sit on my lap in the backseat while we go thru? How fast do you drive when going through? I feel like her rear facing seat will be so prohibitive and she won't be able to see . Thanks!

We went last night. You drive fairly slowly, but it's with the headlights off, and the guy behind us was almost right up our bumper.

We've gone to the Jones beach lights the last two years. Two years ago dd1 was about 18 months. She could see the lights backwards and in the mirror. She still enjoyed it.
This year we'll do the Girl Scout one with dd1 (3 1/2) and dd2 who is 17 months. She'll stay in her rear facing car seat.

Last year I switched the seat forward for the trip and switched it back the next day

We went with my 2yo rear facing and she saw everything.
Please do not drive with a child on your lap, it's not worth the risk!

I agree. It's so not worth the risk especially for a light show that an 18 month old isn't even going to remember . The car seat is fine.
