Using two aisle runners to cover hardwood steps?
I have no idea if this is a good idea. I ordered an area rug for living room. Aisle runner is only 8 feet long so I'm thinking of ordering two and having it tacked down over our hardwood steps? Is this a horrible idea?

I'd be interested too. I priced out a runner for our house at a carpet store. All the ones we liked, ended up being $2K installed plus.

We just had ours done and they pretty much tacked it down but they put some type of green foam down first and then the carpet. Installation and carpet for stairs and two runners came to $3800?? I kinda feel like most people could do it themselves if they research the process.

We just had a custom runner (I picked carpet I liked and they made a runner) from Montauk carpet $1000 including install.

I prefer the look of no rug on the stairs but, after falling down a few times, I feel it's a necessity.
We paid about $1k for our runner and install as well.

Yes! When we moved in that was one of the first things we did after DH and I both almost killed ourselves and our poor dog fell down multiple times. I'm definitely not a big fan of the stair runner look but hardwood stairs can be very dangerous.
