Santa- can't find wish list items- Vent
So I've given up on 2 of my daughters most wanted gifts. The hatchimal and 3ds. I've gotten up and waited in the freezing cold in front of TRU and Target countless mornings with other crazy moms and I'm done. I feel bad but if I can't get either item online I can't get up and wait anymore. I know this is not what Christmas is about but she wanted both of these items and put a big heart around the hatchimal so I wish I could have gotten it. I was thinking of leaving her a letter from Santa with a rain check basically and sending her the items later in the year when I can get them. I think she may question Santa and shake her belief. UGH Damn Hatchimals wrecking my life.

Can you leave her a note that the Easter Bunny will get it for her? Hatchimals seem more spring-related anyway.

Unfortunately so many people are buying them and putting them on eBay. Good news is there are literally over 10000 on eBay so it's driving the price down. They're on there for about $100. May be worth the extra $30 to avoid all that crap in trying to get one.

I saw a letter from Santa going around Facebook about the hatchimal and why he couldn't send it yet.
It was great

It's insanity and I totally understand your frustration. My niece only wanted a hatchimal for Christmas and my sis woke up Fri and Sat at 3am to sit in front of Target for their doors to open. She was 2nd on line the first time and they only got in one hatchimal, the woman in front of her got it. The next day, she was first in line and successful getting one. Not sure if that helps but it worked for her. But, I really like the letter posted above by NervousNell. By January 1st, they won't know what to do with all the Hatchimals in the store!

There has to be.
Like why can I get a shopkin but not this?
Or a Little Live Pets- and not this?
And this is not something being made in a person's basement on Etsy.
This is a mass manufactured toy.
Come on... they can ramp up production to meet demand. Someone mentioned above taht Target only got ONE in a shipment. What kind of BS is that?

I saw on fb that target has hatchimal themed gift cards. Could be another option similar to the letter posted. So glad dd seems to have never heard of these things.

yep like toys r us last weekend. Store opened at 8:00 I got there at 5am but people camped out since 8:00pm the night before and they only got 18 hatchimals and there were hundreds of people waiting. That why I just did it on eBay my time is worth the Money.

Aww I feel so bad for you and her. This is terrible that they do this. I told my daughter that Santa does not have enough for everyone. Then I got on line at 5am last week at TRU and was lucky and got one. The manager handled it so professionally! He said they are getting more. Don't give up hope, but don't obsess either. Target is supposed to have them this Sunday. If I find one, I will FM you.
Just think one day you will tell your kids "do you know that I woke up at 3am to go stand on line for your toy!"
