Is anyone planning on not returning to work?

I didn't return after I had dd1. My leave was entirely unpaid, I was never in their insurance and always in dhs. Two weeks before I was due to come back I told them wasn't coming back.

I'm sure I would have handled it differently had my leave been paid or I was on their insurance plan.

Find out what you would have to pay back. My last job most people quit after their std ran out so usually after 6-8 weeks after baby was born. If you aren't entitled to anything but disability and don't care about disability I would give then a month or so notice depending on the job. I worked in finance so the minute you gave your resignation you were usually walked out the door.

I decided during my leave not to go back. I let them know 2 weeks before I was supposed to return. I did not have to pay anything back and I was paid through my leave. I worked at a law firm.

DH and I seriously considered it but I will go back for atleast 30 days. If I don't return I would have to pay back all of my health benefit premiums since we have insurance thru my job. Definitely make sure you don't have to pay anything back to the company if you decide to leave.

I would wait and give 2 weeks notice, or after std runs out. You might change your mind or might need to go back. You never know.

Re: Is anyone planning on not returning to work?

Thanks ladies. I'm not entitled to anything from my job. I will use some of my remaining vacation time but that's all I get so I think I will give notice right after I get that. They will have plenty of time to find permanent replacement. A temp is supposed to be covering me during my leave.
