Need new obgyn that delivers at Southside. Please.
I waited 2 hours before being seen on Thursday. The dr was great but it is hard to schedule appointments when you will be sitting for hours on end. And I have been trying to call since 8am when the office is open and they still have not turned the phones on. It is 9:23. I am having issues and need to speak to someone. The emergency service lady was a ***** to say the least. To sum it up, i need a new dr. Any suggestions. Preferably not 2 hour wait times.

Not sure which practice you are talking about but I used Oakdale OBGYN and the wait times weren't that bad when I was going (excpet maybe for the female doctor)
I was very happy there..

Not sure which practice you are talking about but I used Oakdale OBGYN and the wait times weren't that bad when I was going (excpet maybe for the female doctor)
I was very happy there..
This (Oakdale OBGYN) is where I am after running away from Contemporary Women's Care in Islandia. I really love Dr. Lopes. I have not ever waited more than 20 minutes, and the office is small enough to run smoothly. They actually called me to tell me that the doctor was running 45 minutes behind for my last appointment, and I was able to reschedule that same week, only waited maybe 10 minutes when I went. They deliver @ Southside.

I go to Dr A in West Islip. Never had to wait long with him. He delivers at Good Sam and I'm not sure about Southside. He used to deliver at Plainview before they closed the maternity dept.

Dr A is amazing, but he is currently out on medical leave for 8 weeks. He had a bad fall as per my friend who is currently 25 weeks pregnant and also sees him. He had to recommend her to another OBGYN until he recovers.

South Bay finally got their shit together. Max wait has been half hour for this whole pregnancy.

They actually called me to tell me that the doctor was running 45 minutes behind for my last appointment, and I was able to reschedule that same week, only waited maybe 10 minutes when I went. They deliver @ Southside.
how bad is contemporary womens care? I had to go there bc of my insurance and only went twice-but i was ther over two hours each time! ridiculous! what made you leave?

I might switch back then to them.

I concur, Dr A is amazing!!!! It's true he had a bad fall but his covering, Dr David was amazing. Very nice straight to the point and proactive.

This. Switching to Oakdale Bohemia OB/GYN basically saved me from having a micro preemie IMO. CWC was awful. Wait times,berating patients loud enough for all of the waiting room to hear, making pregnant women cry (yeah, i know not hard to do, but who wants to hear "go to a hematologist, your white count is elevated. they need to rule out cancer." when they're 14 weeks along with their first baby??)
All three drs are amazing. Especially lopes and bakshi (i just prefer male drs).

Bakshi delivered my DD and I was SOOO happy he was at the hospital when I went into labor.
He was just amazing and so calming.
I love his demeanor as a Doctor and I never ever thought I'd prefer a male doctor, but he just makes you feel so comfortable and he's very calming and straightforward.

Oh, totally hear you about Contemporary Women's Care. I actually liked Dr. Mckenna, but Rubin was a beast. I had an actual confrontation with her like I have never had with any doctor ever in my life, even after many years of intense IVF stuff (i.e. tons of contact with tons of doctors, techs, nurses, hospitals). And the office itself is chaotic. Much happier in Oakdale. People are nice, and my cousin who works with all of them @ Southside maternity ward spoke in glowing terms about Lopes.

omg bakshi was SO calm during my ER section. Even before I delivered, I ended up in L&D for high BP around 26-ish weeks and I had a full blown panic attack.
This was my second time ever meeting him and he came in, held my hand, smoothed my hair, and said "breathe, and know that you are NOT having a baby this weekend"
I seriously cannot say more nice things about a practice.. from staff to drs. all around amazing.
