OA (Netflix)
I watched the first episode and could barely get through the 2nd one. Normally it would be something right up my alley but maybe I'm just missing something. Does it get better?

What does OA stand for?
It's the actual name of the show. OA
It does stand for something, but it gives away a bit of what the show is about if you know going in.
But if you really want to know.....
*Spoiler!*
Original Angel.

I thought it was interesting right from the start but it does pick up more once she starts telling her story. I was really disappointed in the ending though so I'm not sure I can in good conscience tell you to soldier on.

Did you like it? I thought it was a little disappointing and slightly ridiculous.
I burst out laughing when they started doing the movements in the cafeteria.

No I didn't like it at all. I liked the middle of series the best when we started to learning about the guy who captured them and her working for him when she was blind and then getting her vision back. The last few episodes were just
That said, I would still watch the second season lol. It was the weirdest show I've ever seen. Not unenjoyable but just not like my usual 4 and 5 star shows. 3 stars lol.

Re: OA (Netflix)
These are my feelings exactly! I was so into her story and the band of misfits from the high school. It was so bizarre seeing Phyllis from the Office in this role.
I still don't exactly get the ending... was she really making it up? Was she kidnapped at all? Was this story her kind of coping mechanism to deal with the trauma? I need to know! So yeah, I'd watch a season 2 if there is one.
ETA: Also, what was the FBI agent doing in her house when French broke in?

I burst out laughing- I thought they were going to tackle the shooter or something. Could you imagine?! There's a shooter in your school and 4 students and a teacher jump up and dance and hiss at him? What the damn hell?!
I'll still watch season 2 though- I need answers!

The agent is the one who suggested that the family go out of the house for awhile, so I imagine he was planting the books.
The OA cannot read English, so it doesn't make sense that the books are hers and that she has already read them.
When the family and the agent were in the FBI office, there is Braille on the wall behind them. The Braille says "Rachel," who was one of the captives. She was the captive who never received a movement. I read this bit about the Braille online, which put the other pieces together for me.
I believe all of these suggestions point toward the FBI having involvement in the experiments. Rachel is, in my opinion, some sort of plant for the FBI.
Also, the youth who is transgender has a connection to Rachel; he saw the remnants of the car accident and the red backpack, which Rachel describes when she explains the death of her brother. They both have dual identities; Rachel is a captive and an agent, and the teen is transitioning to his gender.

Hmmmmmmm I never really thought about her not being able to read English. We can't know that definitively though, can we? It was never said and they could have taught it when she was younger and could see. I mean she could clearly speak English.
But I'm very interested in this twist about the FBI possibly being involved. Thanks for the insights! I've been trying to look up theories but haven't seen these around anywhere!

You're welcome!
I understand what you mean about her ability to speak English. However, she lost her sight when she was very young; I have trouble believing she would've had the capacity to read Homer's works. But I could be wrong! I hope there is a season two so that we can find out!
