Recommend your Winter Coat
I just recently bought a Larry Levine puffer coat from Nordstrom because it was on ridiculous sale. I am so disappointed in it. I basically froze my butt off the last few days.
Looking at North Face coats but not sure which are the warmest.

NF Gotham Parka
I got it at Macys Using Coupons 2 years ago. Paid less then this
It's very warm and doesn't shed feathers at all. My old one did and I couldn't stand it

I bought a 1 MADISON coat from Lord and Taylor this year. It is surprisingly the warmest coat I have ever had. I get lots of compliments on it too. I have the olive color.

Re: Recommend your Winter Coat
My dress coat that I wear to work is not warm- it's a wool coat and it's ok on a day like today or even in the 40s but it's not for super cold weather.
Then I have a short down jacket from LL Bean for weekends- it has 850 fill- the north face that everyone raves about has about 550 fill to give you an idea of how warm this sucker is
So you can image how warm it is- but I can't wear it to work. And I feel like the long puffer coats are not dressy enough for work. So I'm kind of stumped.
I saw this girl in Penn Station once with this down puffer that I was OBSESSED with- it was like fitted at the waist and had a belt and actually looked pretty and dressy. It was almost ruffly. I actually wanted to stop her and ask what it was- but I felt like a weirdo.

Re: Recommend your Winter Coat
I have had the North Face Miss Metro parka in Baroque Purple for about 2 years now. It's so warm I actually sweat in it sometimes. ETA: It comes down further on the legs than on the model pictured here (I'm only 5'1)
I've just ordered the North Face Dunagiri coat in Vaporous Grey because I wanted something shorter for skiing this year. It hasn't come yet, but I can update once I receive it!
UPDATE: I received the shorter grey coat (actually more of a greyish white) in the mail today. It seems just as warm as the purple one I already own. It comes down to about 4 inches above the top of my knee, and I like that it's not bulky. The small fits me perfectly. I may need to do something to keep the belt in place like add a stitch. The reviews of this coat were good except for people saying the belt getting lost into the coat.

My LE Chalet looks almost identical, and it is longer on me too...I thought at first you were showing the same as mine. I too sometimes sweat/overheat in it.
Let us know how you like your new NF; I need a shorter coat that is still warm. My current NF is a true "jacket" therefore doesn't cover my bum, so it is not very warm.

I am always freezing. I had a coat from LL Bean that kept me pretty warm but it was so puffy. I got this coat for Christmas and I LOVE it. Not as puffy as my other coat and sooo warm. coat
