What's your favorite Disney Resort?
Looking to go this summer for the first time. Will have a 6 and 3 yr old. Want a very nice place with lots to do for the kids and would prefer not to be too far from magic kingdom

we LOVED the Wilderness Lodge!! laid back, quiet, great pool area for the kids, amazing lobby with a "hidden mickey" scavenger hunt you can do... and a quick boat ride to Magic kingdom! We also really liked the polynesian- same thing. quick monorail or boat ride to MK. AND at the polynesian, you can also walk to the Disney ticket and transportation center, where you can get anywhere else really easily. These are both "Deluxe" hotels and are $$$, but you can find discounts.... we also like Port orleans French quarter, too as a "moderate" level hotel. The art of animation has nice suites that have 2 bathrooms which is nice with kids... AND its really fun themed- the Cars section is incredible!!

I personally like the Coronado Springs resort. Its Mexican themed. Its less crazier than the other resorts but still fun for kids. If not than the Polynesian.

What's your favorite Disney Resort?
Favorite is Yacht and Beach Club...pool is AMAZING!
2nd, Wilderness Lodge (love taking the boat to the MK)
We have stayed at a bunch of different Disney resorts. All have been fine, except...we stayed at Coronado Springs last Summer and hated it. Was run down, housekeeping was terrible, just wasn't impressed! Also the All Star Movies resort was pretty bad. (liked the other All stars).

Yup, we went last Summer after our cruise for 2 nights. My sister was staying here, so we booked a room. We were in the cabanas section, near the Dig pool. It was horrible. We had connecting rooms, and both rooms were bad. Stuff was rusty and worn down in the room. Housekeeping didn't leave shampoo or toiletries, took towels/bath mats, didn't replace them. Just wasn't a good experience overall! Not what I would expect from Disney. My sister was so disappointed, as she was staying there a week. The pool area was fine. The food court is higher priced than any other food court in WDW. I'm suspecting that is because it's a convention hotel. But the kids meals were $1.00 more each for the same thing. I thought that was pretty weird!! Not to mention the bus service is terrible since there are a bunch of internal bus stops throughout the resort.

Have stayed at the contemporary twice-no experience anywhere else, and love it there...nothing beats the ability to walk to or from magic kingdom for me. Also easy monorail to epcot and bus service was great to the other parks.

I could have wrote this for almost word for word. Beach Club is our favorite because of the pool and we also loved Wilderness Lodge.
Coronado Springs is just waayyyy to big for us. Our favorite moderate is Port Orleans Riverside. If you have a daughter the Royal Rooms are magical.
We never stayed at a value since we heard the beds are terrible and the walls are paper thin.

If we weren't vacation club members I think I would always stay at Port Orleans French Quarter.

We stayed here once, and I liked it! Small, no bus sharing. Nice rooms, good food court.

I really loved Yacht Club. Have also stayed at Polynesian and Contemporary. All were great, but liked YC the best. Kids liked the pool; dh and I liked walking to Epcot for dinner. And I just liked the overall theme.

Re: What's your favorite Disney Resort?
We went in August and stayed at Saratoga Springs b/c we wanted a 2 bedroom villa and didn't book THAT far in advance (by to Disney standards, anyway lol)...it was the ONLY 2 bedroom available. 6 of us stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was really nice. Having a kitchen was perfect for breakfasts before hitting the parks. We were walking distance to Disney Springs, which was great for boozy late nights . We rented two cars so we avoided the bus which was great, and were able to break into groups. Parking was free at all parks because we were staying on property...I don't think I'd do Disney without a rental car bc it was just so convenient.

Parking at the MK is incredibly inconvenient with a rental car. You have to park in the lot, then take a tram to the transportation and ticket center (if your parking spot isn't close enough), then either take the boat, or the monorail to the actual park. This is a nightmare if you stay until the park closes. Whereas, if you take the bus to the MK, you are dropped off right at the park.

Loved the Grand Floridian! It's simply beautiful. Although I don't know I can ever go back after the gator incident this year. My DS was playing by that same shoreline only a month prior and I still feel tramatized.

Re: What's your favorite Disney Resort?
If you want to be close to MK, then Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge are your best choices. Of course those are all $$$.
I also like Beach Club and Coronado Springs. You might also want to look into family suites at Art of Animation. It's so nice to have two rooms and two bathrooms, especially with little ones that might go to bed early.
All that said, if I had no budget constraints I'd stay at Poly.

Favorite Monorail Resort is the Contemporary because of the ability to walk to MK. Second fave is the Polynesian.
Favorite Moderate: Port Orleans French Quarter. Stayed here last August. Was so pleasantly surprised will definitely visit again. It's a small resort with dedicated bus service. Can also take the boat to Disney Springs.

What's your favorite Disney Resort?
My all time favorite resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge and there are tons of activities there for the kids but that is not close to the Magic Kingdom.
My favorite monorail resort is the Polynesian. I love the theme and access to the monorail and ferry boats and views of the fireworks from the beach. I also love the pools there
Part of my concierge service is to help my clients choose the resort that is perfect for them. If you are not working with a travel agent, please reach out to me. I would love to help you plan a magical vacation for your family and my services are free.
