Cell phone screeenings may be next.
I saw social media and cell phone contacts and records.
ETA: how ironic that those who are anti-big government and don't want big brother watching are the same ones who are in support of this blatant invasion of privacy.

This is not new. It started under Bush and was expanded under Obama. It should not surprise you that Trump is following these precedents and expanding it to include social media more overtly.
Forbes article: "Lost in all of the ensuing furor is that we’ve actually already done this for years, between customs searches and seizures of cell phones and laptops and NSA surveillance of social media."

This is nothing new and is another example of the media blowing something way out of proportion. I definitely don't agree with many things that Trump has done/is proposing but it bugs me when things that are not issues are made into big headlines.
"In this context, the administration’s proposal to expand searches to cloud accounts like social media is simply a modernization of this pre-existing policy that was widely utilized under the Obama administration. In essence, it represents nothing more than modernizing surveillance laws akin to evolving from intercepting a suspect’s postal mail to intercepting their emails. "
ETA I'm curious the reasons that someone would be against this? If someone wants to come into our country and live amongst us, don't we want to know their background? And in today's world, our cell phones give a pretty good profile of who we are, it's an extension of background check.
