I know there are tons of posts on Disney buuuut, this will be our first trip and wondering if there is a favorite Moderate Hotel. Obviously everyone has their own opinions but I am completely clueless!! My kids will be 9 & 5 when we go! Thanks!

I like French Quarter..no internal bus stops that stop at 12 places, and its a small resort. The rooms are nice, and we liked the food court. I didn't like Coronado Springs AT ALL FYI

french quarter is great! its small, easy to get around with kids, buses are easy... theres a boat to disney springs, if you want to go there to walk around and shop or to one of the restaurants there. they have a nice pool with a fun splash area for the kids, too.

Just an FYI: Caribbean Beach is undergoing massive refurbishment and their restaurants and food court are closed. Disney is offering $75 per night gift cards to entice people to stay there, but many are switching to other properties.
Not sure when you're planning to go/book, but French Quarter is excluded from the free dining promotion when it becomes available.

Another vote for French Quarter. The free dining promotion isn't necessarily a cost savings since you pay full rack rate for the room.

Agreed, but it's their first trip, so I'm assuming they will do multiple character dines. Plus, with a family of 4, if they added a dining plan but had a 25% discount for the room, free dining would save them more (assuming they are staying at a moderate, which is what OP said). The Disney Dining Plan for 2 adults and 2 kids the ages of OP's children would cost about $1300 for 7 nights.
