Carle Place v Williston Park
Hi everyone!
Would love feedback from anyone familiar with these areas. We are looking to buy in an area with great schools. That is a top priority. Also, really hoping for a close-knit, friendly, strong community feel. Any thoughts on these two areas? Anyone have good experiences with either town? If so, would love to hear your thoughts and feelings!
Thank you so so much!

williston park is either zoned for herrics or for wheatley. both are fantastic school districts. Carle place schools are good, but williston park is definitely better IMO. That is why you'll notice the home prices in williston park are much higher than CP

Carle Place is a great small town and district, but the traffic surrounding it has gotten unbearable. I'd visit the area to see how congested Old Country Rd and Glen Cove Rd can get.
Williston Park can be Mineola or Herricks schools. Great little town, not as congested. Herricks schools are highly competitive, Mineola is probably an average district, but still decent.

I think you're thinking East Williston...I don't think any of WP is zoned for Wheatley.

yeah you're right! my bad
Also, I know part of WP is the village, and part is not. I have friends in both areas, and the taxes are wayyyyy cheaper on the side that is not in the village. Both are zoned for herricks
ETA: check out albertson with herricks SD and new hyde park with herricks schools as well

Re: Carle Place v Williston Park
Carle Place is a nice small community - I would say the taxes are very good since the commercial area surrounds the small neighborhood

I grew up in Westbury and went to Carle Place schools. Loved how small the school was, we only graduated with about 120 kids. Nice to have the town close by to shop at. I do agree on the traffic though I feel like it's slowly transitioning into Queens out that way.

I grew up in Albertson. Mineola schools. I'd pick Carle Place.CP super cute town, lovely families and terrific schools.

I would also vote Carle Place, if you're a local you know all the routes to avoid the traffic and you get all your shopping done midweek since everything is so darn close. Even with my commuting into Manhattan, I manage to do the Fairway/Costco/Target/Trader Joe's runs as needed after having dinner at home.
Taxes are a breeze and community is amazing.

Also, FYI, they are building a Whole Foods next to Buy Buy Baby. So while this will increase traffic, if you like this store it's a bonus.
