cruise question
We're going on a family cruise in a couple of weeks Our daughter is 5 so thankfully we don't have to carry around a diaper bag anymore but since the ship is so big, I don't want to run back to the room a million times. Should I bring a small beach bag or back pack to carry a camera, sunscreen, chap stick etc.? It will probably be annoying to hold anything but none of my summer clothes have pockets. Any suggestions?

Re: cruise question
I would absolutely bring a tote bag. I used to, even without kids!

Re: cruise question
yup- on cruises i usually bring a backpack instead of my purse. its more comfortable to carry around all day then my purse is, and it fits more of the extra stuff you need while you're on vacation like a few toys for my son to fidget with at dinner or whatever (he's 6...) even on the "sea days" that you're not getting off the ship, its nice to have like you said so you're not running back and forth to the room all day.

I bring a tote...actually we have only cruised on Disney, and returning cruisers get a cute DCL tote, so I typically use that

Re: cruise question
When we cruise we definitely carry a tote bag for trips to the beach. I haven't found the need to carry anything around with me when out and about on the ship. usually just have room key and cell phone which go in pocket of my shorts or in my hand.

Re: cruise question
I used a tote or bookbag (switched on and off). We did a Disney cruise so it was a lot easier carrying all of the autograph stuff for meet and greets, extra sunblock etc...

I literally just got off a cruise this morning. I got a small cross body bag that I brought with me whenever we were out of the room it held our sea passes, my phone, and any other necessities.

I brought a tote bag, my one trip wonder (used it as a carry on) and a cross body.
I always had the cross body bag with me since I was carrying around my cell and my room phone. When we left the ship I brought the tote or the one trip wonder (we sailed Disney and ran a 5K so I had change of clothes for DH and I that day and needed a bigger bag).

I don't have kids, but I always bring a beach bag on cruises. I even use it on the cruise to carry sunscreen, phone, book, hair brush etc. Much easier than trying to carry everything

This is what we did when we went on our last cruise in Nov with the kids. You don't need much at all unless you're going off the ship. That was the only time I brought a tote and backpack. THe cruise has everything so no need to carry money, towels, water bottles, etc. There are stations for food and drinks, anything you buy on the ship you put on your room charge and towels are by the water that you can take. I'd rather just go back to the room to change clothes anyway.
Have fun! What ship are you going on?

cruise question
Just got back from a week long cruise this weekend. Whenever we used the pools or left the ship I carried a large beach bag (the large bag from initials inc) It holds our towels, video camera, camera, sunblock, sea pass cards and money. Also if we leave the ship I bring a change of clothes for my three kids. They can't deal with sand in their suits and get really itchy.
