Detox- jump start to losing weight?

Has anyone done maybe a 3 day detox type of diet to help jump start weight loss? I think I may do the 21 Day Fix again but am so damn addicted to sugar, I was hoping to do a detox of some sort for a few days to see the scale move and get me motivated. Not just smoothies, I need to actually eat food lol. Any ideas?

Detox- jump start to losing weight?

There are no reason for these things. YOur body is self cleaning. Just start a diet. The reason these type of things sell is because you constantly need them. They aren't lasting results. Just eat clean. In three days you'll feel great.

Thank you, yes, after doing some research, it seems this is the way to go. Going to go this route. Using tomorrow to shop and get a good assortment of proteins, fruits, veggies, etc. I need to stop waiting!

Re: Detox- jump start to losing weight?

im addicted to sugar and can usually cut back when try to lose weight, but i gained a hard, solid 15 pounds since the summer, so it was a lot of weight and quickly and due mostly to sugar and sweets and carbs... i have not been able to cut down enough. it is terrible. its like an addiction. very hard to control myself. i try to avoid it when i am out and try not to bring it in the house. however, i already have like a stockpile for the apocalypse so it never really is out of the house. i cant throw out it is too hard for me. im trying smaller portions with all meals and snacks etc. trying to wait until i am hungry eat. id eat even when my stomach wasnt growling. now i try to wait as long as possible. good luck!!

The problem with waiting until you are hungry to eat is that you are more likely to make bad choices. You would be better off planning out 5-6 smaller meals and eat them at even intervals through out the day, like every 2-3 hours.

I will have my breakfast and then a couple of hours later a piece of fruit or carrots, then lunch followed 2-3 hours later by either fruit or a Kashi or fiber one bar. It's hard to get used to doing it that way, but I find my sugar cravings are less and I'm starting to lose weight.

This is true!! But I already meal plan my breakfasts and dinners, so those things are set and I leave lunch open but I try to have around only healthy options... lots of fruits and vegetables. and during lunch I usually crave cheese or nuts more than sweets which isnt terrible. to me its after dinner before bed that gets tricky, but im trying crest whitening strips now. if im whitening my teeth i cant break open the ice cream or cookies lol!!

I like that plan lol! I have very similar issues. It's awful! Started the 21 day fix today. I already screwed up and had a peppermint patty but that was the only bad thing I did. I feel good so hopefully I can keep my mouth shut until tomorrow!

Lol I will have to try that one. Cheese has been the hardest for me to cut back on, I could live on cheese. For me I had to change the kinds of things I smacked on during the day. Back on WW and things I thought were good choices, like Kashi bars had a much higher points value than I thought it would.

Re: Detox- jump start to losing weight?

Try the 10-day smoothie cleanse, the purpose is to detoxify your body and kick start weight loss and eating healthy. If you read the book; which, I highly recommend there is a lot of good information. There if a full version where you use smoothies to replace meals but snack on veggies and fruit through out he day. The modified version is smoothies with one healthy meal and raw veggie/fruit snacking.

I've done cleanses 3x before and always feel great in the middle and afterwards. They also save me money because I'm not spending it on expensive lunches and eating out. But any detox I've done is ones I make at home. I'm currently on day 8 of a master cleanse and then will roll into the smoothie since I can't jump back into eating full meals.

The eBook is 10-day green smoothie cleanse by JJ smith, she talks about getting rid of toxins and cravings. I've been reading it again to get me motivated.

Re: Detox- jump start to losing weight?

I don't know, I recently started a low calorie diet, using an app called MyNetDiary (free download, I highly recommend!!). I've been keeping it under 1300, and have lost five pounds already. I feel like I need to jump right in, shrink my stomach and kick the craving initially.
