Boy's dressier clothes
Where do you get dressy clothes for boys?
My boys are almost 8 and 5. Most of the nicer button downs for occasions are from Nordstroms, but it's sometimes hit or miss and sometimes so much to wear just once.
Anyone else feel finding boys dressier clothes annoying?! Girls can wear dresses whenever. Most of the time my boys nicer clothes are a good pair of skinny jeans and collared top or nice top. For school they wear jeans with tops or their sports pants like Adidas, Nike, UnderArmour, etc. I usually go to Kohls, CP, Target, sometimes I'll get it at TJ Maxx or Marshalls or the outlets. I hate spending a fortune on them bc their jeans wind up getting holes by their knees. No matter what I spend on their jeans it's the same thing. When we have a holiday or an occasion I'll get a nice shirt only for them to wear it once.
Thanks!

believe it or not... i've gotten a few things off of Ebay for my son. Janie and Jack stuff thats really nice. its people, like you said, whose kids only wear it once so its still in really nice shape... some even new with tags that their kids never wore. also- carters goes up to bigger sizes now, and they usually have some cute dressy shirts for holidays...

Re: Boy's dressier clothes
Don't do CP! I was trying to match my 8 YO DS and my 1 YO DS, and while my 1 YO looks super cute, my 8 YO stuff looks ridiculous. The bow tie is so tiny and the sleeves are so huge on a short sleeve button down, I had to return it and now I still need to figure out my older DS.
I most likely will end up trying Burlington coat factory bc my friend told me they had a ton of dressy boy clothes for cheap or just end up at Nordstrom paying a fortune for 1 days use.

Boy's dressier clothes
Ugh this always drives me mad! I have a hard time looking for anything I like for DS, whether it's dressy or casual. I have lots of luck at Century 21. I also saw lots of cute things at Macy's when I went the other day.

Re: Boy's dressier clothes
Most of the stuff I have is hand me down (thank you, cousins!!!) Pretty much all Ralph Lauren Kids from the outlets. I just got a shirt from there... but we use it for all events for over a year... so it gets use. It's cheaper than a girl's dress. Janie and Jack will have stuff for sale for around $14 a few times a year. We pair with any pants (can get dressy ones at Marshalls for $8 and I send them to school in them til they rip).

Not trying to hijack, but has anyone found anything cute for Easter? Gymboree and CP had really nothing. Gymboree had seersucker but DH would kill me lol

Re: Boy's dressier clothes
Thanks all! I will keep looking. I'm in NJ so there's no Century 21 near me or Janie and Jack. I'll check out the dept stores at the mall later.

Sorry, I'm no help. I'm going to the mall today. Ugh! Hopefully find something. Between Spring pictures, Passover, my niece's first bday party at a hall I am at a loss. I got nice khakis and tops when we went on vacation in February, but nothing for cooler weather. I think for Passover I'll do nice jeans (if I can find bc it's end of season and jeans are starting to get holes in the knees) and button down or collar top. Sooo much for girls and nothing for boys. They have so much sports stuff and graphic shirts. That doesn't help

Re: Boy's dressier clothes
I find some cute dressier things at H&M. They have trendier clothes and nice blazers and vests. And it doesn't cost a fortune which I love.

I can never find anything dressy at Kohls. I did have luck at JC Penny with their Arizona brand. Got some nice button downs for the boys that would look good with nice jeans or khakis so that may work.

Re: Boy's dressier clothes
Definitely not as fun as girls but I actually find boys SO much easier!
I always keep khakis that fit on hand and then buy a few Vineyard Vines button downs when I have a coupon code which can be worn to anything. It's pretty much always navy gingham, light blue gingham and pink gingham. I am so boring!
