Question about Paul Ryan as speaker
I'm not super political so forgive me if this is a stupid question. What is the connection between Paul Ryan as speaker of the house and the newly proposed health care? A reporter asked Trump "If the proposed health care act doesn't pass should Paul Ryan still be speaker of the house?" Trump answered yes. I'm not making the direct connection between the two.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.................Paul Ryan crafted this new healthcare bill so my assumption would be that if it doesn't go through, he will take the blame. Since prior to Trump winning Ryan flat out didn't support him my guess is people are going to wonder if he'll take a hit when Trump's "repeal and replace" plan falls apart.

I would think he asked that bc speaker of the house is supposed to be the leader of the majority party and the presiding officer of the House of Representatives. So if he can't persuade the majority party, on a bill he actually came up with himself, then does he really deserve the job?
I also think that Trump wanted Ryans bill to fail so that he could blame Ryan for not repealing Obamacare to his supporters, while also still being able to blame Obamacare for everything lol.

This healthcare bill is Paul Ryan's baby so to speak. It's also his job as Speaker to ensure they have the votes to move forward.

Yes, up until he won he was basically opposed to Trump. He's such a weasel.

I know recently there was leaked audio of Ryan saying he would not support Trump. I don't know what the present relationship is like.
Ryan has wanted to do away with this since day 1. Also SS- meanwhile, he paid for college using his father's SS death benefits. Someone who benefited from something wanting to take that from others is a terrible person IMO.
