Looking for daycare recs in the Stony Brook area
Hello all,
I am looking for recommendations for daycare for my three-year-old DD. Has anybody been to the learning experience in Stony Brook recently? The last recommendation I could find was 2012 or 13. I called Stony Brook University but there is a waiting list for that. Any other recommendations? She has never been in daycare before but I want to socialize her a little bit before she goes to preschool, and I feel like she's not getting enough stimulation at home. I also have a 1 year old DS who I might send as well.
Thank you!

Are you on Facebook? The Three Village Mom page has a ton of current threads for this. We have twins who will be 3 in June and they go MWF to Laurel Hill. We have been happy so far, but there are a lot of good schools in the area. Really depends on the days/hours/type of program you are looking for!

Thank you for your reply! I tried to find the three village moms page on Facebook but nothing comes up. Do you have a link to it or something? I moved here right before DD was born and don't really know anyone here yet.

I think SBU's daycare is only for SB employees.

Re: Looking for daycare recs in the Stony Brook area
My good friend in Stony Brook used Tutor Time in Nesconset. She was very happy with them. Now with her second dd, she uses a sitter in her home and the woman brings her dd to various activities throughout the week for socialization.

My 7 month old goes to the learning experience in Stony Brook and we love it. He is there from 8:30 - 5. The teachers and staff are really sweet and attentive. We were somewhere else before and are much much happier at the learning experience.

Thank you all, I'm going to call these places above and mill pond as well. I'm so nervous to send her but I'm hoping she gets a lot of out of it.

We seriously considered Mill Pond. They are expanding to a second location across the street from Ward Melville. We stuck with Laurel Hill due to proximity and familiarity for our girls
