Mucinex for chest congestion?
I had a bad cold and cannot get rid of the phlegm and chest congestion. It's really getting annoying, esp because I feel fine other than this. Is mucinex worth getting?? I feel like I just need to break up the congestion

Yes and if you don't want to spend the money, any store brand will work too. Just look at the active ingredient and the amount of it in the mucinex and you can find it in a generic.
I don't find the name brand works any better to be honest

Thank you! I don't think I've ever had a "productive" cough last this long. It's so gross and gets even worse at night - nasty.

Yes, mucinex is great, my Dr's. always recommend it to me. Also have you been to the Dr to be checked out just to be on safe side? I've had walking pneumonia quite a few times and it was just a cough and phlegm and didn't really feel all that bad!

Thanks, good to know.
No I haven't been to the dr. - I kind of figured as long as I didn't / don't have a fever, it's probably just a cold or similar virus.
How do they treat walking pneumonia anyway? I had bacterial pneumonia several years ago and was very sick and needed more than one antibiotic. But I thought walking pneumonia almost cleared up on its own?
