Baptism Banner
I am having my DDs baptism this summer OOS (we're in FL, baptism will be in NY) and was instructed to create a banner. The church provided a small piece of oak tag along with instructions to be creative and inventive. I have NO clue what to do. Could you please show me what you did for those who had a catholic baptism for their DC? I've only been to 1 catholic baptism and did not notice a banner. I've tried calling the rectory, but I can't get ahold of a live person to get some clarification.
TIA

Re: Baptism Banner
I'm not artistic at all so that we'd be going banner-less. I have never heard of such a thing

My twins will be christened in a few weeks and I've never heard of this. Wasn't done for my niece or nephew

Baptism Banner
Our church does small hanging banners on the pew for the baby's to designate seating. Names but nothing elaborate or creative. How big is the oak tag?

Baptism Banner
I've never heard of this. I would do a search for communion or confirmation banners for ideas.

Ditto. I've never heard of this for a baptism!
I'd do something simple- a cross and the baby's name?
Or maybe "God Bless _____"

Re: Baptism Banner
They do this in my church! Dont worry, it doesnt need to be anything elaborate. The purpose of the banner is they hang it on the end of the pew so your family knows where to sit. Thats really it.
I just went to Michaels and bought some sticker letters and some crosses (in the scrapbooking section) and just spelt out his first name and added a cross on both sides. The banner they gave me also had pre punched holes at the top so I tied a ribbon for it to hang. Thats it!
