blacktop driveway and quotes!
Redoing our driveway and using a guy that did our pavers a couple of years back. Looking at doing blacktop driveway with a paver border to match the pavers in our backyard. We have a pretty standard sized driveway, so if you have done something like this and wouldn't mind sharing what you paid that would be great.
Currently, we have a concrete driveway with a grass patch in the middle.
The guy we are getting a quote from is good with negotiating price, but I just wanted to get some ideas so I kind of know the range that I would be looking at Image Attachment(s):

How has it held up? Would you suggest the blacktop, or should we spend the extra money and go with concrete?

Our driveway needs spot repairs and resealing. Haven't called for quotes yet but here is a list of those I plan to contact. Each have websites.

Re: blacktop driveway and quotes!
Who is the fella that many have used for pavers and stonework? Was it Fernando? Let me search.
ETA: Yes, Fernando. Doctor Pavers

Wow! This is too funny as this is exactly what I am looking to do. I want to start getting quotes, as well.

it has held up well. we were supposed to seal it every year, but the weather has been crazy so we never got around to doing it. :0
i didn't like concrete b/c it cracks often, stains easily & i like the look of asphalt better. i didn't do pavers all the way b/c they were too expensive, particularly if the cars ever have oil leaks

Re: blacktop driveway and quotes!
It depends on what the square footage of your driveway is. We used Fernando and did pavers on our driveway. The cost of pavers was only slightly more expensive than concrete, and the look is so much better.

Re: blacktop driveway and quotes!
We had our 1-car driveway widened to fit 2 cars next to each other. We paid $4500 for asphalt and pavers. This included excavation, pavers along the length of the driveway, 3 rows of pavers at the bottom of the driveway, and a full paver walkway to the front porch. Without the paver walkway, it would have been $3500.

Re: blacktop driveway and quotes!
We had single driveway expanded to a double driveway, paver border, and paver walkway. They also redid the walkway from driveway to backyard gate. Total cost 5k. This was in 2015. We used Pellegrino Paving and are happy with how it came out.
ETA: We got 3 or 4 quotes and their price was very fair

Ok this makes me feel like i got a pretty good quote then. We are tearing up the existing driveway, extending by about a foot or two and putting a paver border around, ripped out old walkway/putting a new paver one in a better location, and redoing our steps all for $6500

Sorry, just saw this. We use Atlas Asphalt in Deer Park. They were very quick and efficient. They came on time, unloaded all their equipment and started working immediately, like within 5 minutes of pulling up. I was impressed with how fast they worked.
Took 5 weeks to park in the driveway though. First 3 weeks the ground had to settle, then they poured the asphalt, then another 2 weeks for that to set before we could park on it.
