From what I gather, Cherry Crest is great for kids.

I Loved the railroad. So cool seeing all the old trains! My girls loved climbing inside. Then we took a ride on the train too. So much fun.

Cherry crest was a lot of fun. We went there last year with another couple and our kids.
couple of things to keep in mind, its almost all outside and pretty open. There isn't a TON of shade. If its hot out, it is really hot. I think we went on the hottest day of the year.
I think you can bring water and stuff in.
