Need HELP - Can't find a PT!
This is day 3 of calling agencies and facilities looking for a PT. I've already cried and screamed (it didn't help) and I still can't find one! If I hear one more time that " our PT does not have room for another case" I may reach through the phone and strangle someone! Sorry! This is so frustrating!!!!!
My son was approved for 2 x 30m 1:1. Why is that so difficult to find. ANYONE HAVE ANY LEADS???? I will be eternally grateful!! He's still in EI till Aug 31st. Then we move over to CPSE. Queens/Nassau County.

Can you bring him to one of the agencies. I know a little boy that goes to a PT facility in Westbury.

I know this doesnt help now, but many people will be ending soon because they wont get summer services so that will open up your window. I Had trouble at one point also, so transitioned early.

Exactly. A lot of therapista will be ending by June. It's just such a hard time of year and really puts kids out who need therapies.
Can you try an in house place like More than a gym?

Unfortunately you may be stuck waiting until the summer for therapists' schedules to open up. I remember when my son qualified for OT while in EI, I had to wait 5 months, it was ridiculous.
Maybe try More than a Gym in Syosset... I don't know if they contract with EI but you can ask.

I don't know if Whitestone is too far for you, but when my son was in EI I took him here for pt Click me .
She would've came to my house (I am in the area) but I wanted to bring him there (my twins would've been in the way at home).

Try going through your insurance instead maybe? My son received OT and PT outside of EI/School, and insurance paid for it.

Maybe try to find a therapist for September and then see if they are willing to help you out by reaching out to colleagues or at least taking you on for June. That was how I was able to get an OT vey late in the year. The one we knew through the agency we were already using was booked but she recommended someone she knew elsewhere who was able to take us. It also may help if you can take him to an agency for the EI services.

I heave PT for my son through EI. His provider is alternatives for children I had no problem as soon as he qualified I did my meeting and services started exactly 2 weeks later. He just started 3 weeks ago. Trying calling them.

I'm sorry I know how much that sucks. I don't live on LI but it took us almost a year (seriously, it was 10 months!) to find someone. In the meantime we used a private PT and eventually I was able to get a good portion of it covered by insurance. Hope you are able to find someone soon!
