Facebook fashion blogs....specifically Living in Yellow & The Motherchich
I recently started following Living in Yellow page on Facebook. I really like a lot of things she posts but did notice that most of it links to Nordstrom. I noticed one of my friends liked something on The Motherchic, also a fashion FB blog so I clicked on that page. It had the same feel to it and also many of her items link to Nordstrom. Is this just Nordstrom marketing??? I like the page but feel sort of turned off if it's not authentic (just a cool chic sharing her fashion finds). They must get some sort of kickback right? Anyone else follow these pages or others that also link mostly to Nordstrom?

I LOVE Living in Yellow. I don't know if they always get a kickback I think sometimes they do. I think she posted a blog about how to be a blogger and how they make money. She doesn't always post to Nordstrom. Another blog I follow is lemonstripes on instagram and facebook. She posts a lot more fashion, lifestyle a mix of everything and sequins and things is another good/fun blog. She also posts a lot of fashion / travel mix of things.

It's definitely not just marketing for Nordstrom. My friends owns an online/home party clothing boutique (Social Threads) and they both have linked her stuff as well.
I love both blogs!

A lot of fashion bloggers shop at Nordstrom. I know on instagram, many of them use a service called likeittoknow.it. When you like the picture, it sends you an email linking to the items they're wearing, and then they get a commission if you later buy something from the site you clicked through to.
It doesn't really turn me off though. However, yes, in addition to this many fashion bloggers get clothes comped. I'm pretty sure they're now required to divulge this though, and write "c/o" in the description on their blogs

I used to Follow Living in Yellow. She def. has to be getting some sort of compensation from Nordstrom or the manufacture. I stopped following her because it seems to fabricated. I would dress that good too if I was getting free stuff!!

The Mom Edit loves Nordstrom too. I definitely think they get compensated somehow. I do think their reviews are honest, but they're definitely not getting nothing out of it.

I read a couple blogs too that post a lot of Nordstrom clothes. The bloggers have posted things like "Nordstrom asked me to review...", so they definitely get compensated by Nordstrom. That's how bloggers make money. And they post affiliated links to the clothes, so I believe that they get commission if someone buys something using their links.
