I am 5 weeks currently. This being my fifth pregnancy (2 successful ones before)...you would think that I would have this down!

I am having typical symptoms, sore BBs, fatigue, and cramping. I just need to be talked off the ledge about the cramping. I know I did with my previous pregnancies, but I am still just thinking that I will get the inevitable news that this is not a viable pregnancy. A terrible way to think, I know, but I just can't help it after my last miscarriage.

Please give me some reassurance here!

5 Weeks

I had cramping that I swore was my period coming. Normal. Everything was fine. I know the fear after having a MC. It sucks.
Hang in there! And congrats!!

Re: 5 Weeks

Cramping is a normal symptom. Your uterus is stretching. It's hard not to worry about every twinge or cramp or even lack thereof, but try to relax. Chat Icon

Re: 5 Weeks

Cramping is totally normal as your uterus stretches.
I also had a lot of pulling- felt like I did a ton of sit ups.

Congrats!!
I had cramping in the beginning with all 3 of my pregnancies. It often felt like AF was going to come any minute.

Thanks girls! I know that so much of this is anxiety. Every little twinge or ill feeling makes me think that something is wrong. I'm such a downer but I hope it gets better when (or if) I hear that little heartbeat.

I cramped until about the 9 week mark. It's normal that early in the pregnancy

Re: 5 Weeks

I've had 6 prior pregnancies and still freak at things I know are normal.

What I've discovered is, you really can't read into anything at all. You can experience no cramps at all and still have a problem (I hate saying that here, but it's true), or you can have bleeding, etc and everything turns out fine.

I'm general with cramping, I've found a rule of thumb is anything that's extreme, followed by bleeding, or doesn't go away, is cause for concern. A little bit of cramps is expected because there's a lot going on in there- so some minor cramps alone, while unsettling, would not raise a red flag to me, personally.

Thanks again! I still feel little twitches and pinches here and there....but I think I make things into more than they really are given history.
