DVD Player for road trips
We're going on our first road trip next week. It's only about 3-4 hours but people are saying having a portable dvd player is a must to keep toddlers occupied. Has this been your experience? There are a lot on amazon so if anyone has a specific one they would recommend, that would be great. TIA

DVD Player for road trips
We used to bring one but haven't in a very long time. My kids are 2.5 and 5 and they occupy themselves with a few toys, snacks, singing with each other or just looking out the window lol.
Check out your library though, ours lends out portable dvd players.

We never used one and never needed one. My kids entertain themselves/each other.

If you have an ipad it does the same thing. I use mine on long trips and it is very useful.

We let our DS use our iPad. I like that it's compact. We just download videos from Amazon prime or Netflix before we go. Keeps my 3 year old entertained which makes the drive a lot less stressful.

Re: DVD Player for road trips
We always bring one, especially if the trip is more than 3-4 hours.
With 2 kids I have a dual screen one, but it can only play one DVD at a time (it shows on both screens simultaneously) Similar to the one below. It also comes with headphones.

How do you download movies from prime or Netflix to your iPad? Do you need data to watch them? My daughters ipad only works with wifi. Sorry to crash OP

Re: DVD Player for road trips
I think it depends on the kids. My 5yo has been a disaster in the car from day 1 (literally he passed out from breath holding in the car when he was a baby). We got a target DVD player and it does help (we use it on trips 3hr or more. He can't look at books or play games as he gets carsick but seems ok watching a movie. My 2 yo does better in the car and usually just plays with a doll or sleeps

Re: DVD Player for road trips
I'd get an Amazon Fire in the Kids Case instead of a DVD player.
