not sure what to do..
my 21 month old son is constantly banging his head when he doesn't get his way. If he wants something that he can't have he'll just start banging his head hard over and over whether it be on the high chair, wall, etc. I have never experiences this with my girls. Not sure what to do..I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. I mean he bangs it hard. I tell him no, try to stop him but nothing works. Anyone experience this?

YES!!!
My son did this around the same age...I think I actually posted about it on here too because I was besides myself, lol.
Honestly, it just passed in time! When he would do it, we would just remove him from the wall and tell him NO. He still did it for a while, a few months maybe? and then once he figured out other ways to communicate, he just stopped.
Hang in there!

My son did this too (not the girls... though my littlest will throw it in to her tantrums at times). It's pretty normal.
The books say to move child from someplace they could injure themselves: so ideally, put him on the floor with a carpet and let them bang it out.

Yes please be sure to move your child out of harms way. Our 22 month old gave himself a nice gash last month by smashing his head into a radiator and after a trip to the ER he has a little scar on his forehead now
That being said since his bad injury he hasn't tried to smash his head on the floor, wall, etc anymore... definitely a terrifying phase.

my first daughter did this. She banged so hard one time on a GLASS coffee table she had a big bump and bruise on her forehead. We were both in tear lol. It did pass in time.My ped at the time said to put a pillow there but really in the moment that's not possible ALL THE TIME. We set up the pack and play at soem point and when she would throw a fit, she went in there, as to not hurt her self to much. It def is a hard phase to get through.
