Transferring via Open Market
I was offered a position that I originally applied to on Open Market.
Does anyone have experience with transferring through Open Market? What are the next steps?

they should ask you for your file number, then they pull you into their Galaxy and you'll receive notification through the open market email address you selected, when all is finalized.

Thanks. I was told it should go through within 3 days. Does that sound right? Not sure why it takes that long and not just a few hours from when the request was put in.

Because it's NYC and everything is a process lol.
Does your current admin know that you're leaving? They get an email that they have a vacancy.

I know if it makes sense the DOE doesn't do it. 
I haven't told them, but I'm pretty sure they know.
I was hoping someone has transferred through open market and they could give me a timeline of how long it actually took to go through.

I was on my schools hiribg committee last year and if we hired someone who taught at another DOE school the principal gave them a day or two to tell their own principal before she called. She always called the other school and spoke to the principal but gave people the courtesy to tell first
