Karate for a 3.5 year old
We did and my son loved it! He has ADHD and it was perfect for him. He should be a black belt in two years since he started at three..

Karate for a 3.5 year old
My son started in a special needs class when he was about 3.5 i think. A good school will take age into consideration. Our class is only 30 minutes because there is no way those kids could last any longer. The kids get it though. Our class has kids as young as 3.

Yes we pay $100/month for 30 minute class once a week. I don't know if "regular" classes are longer or what they cost.

Re: Karate for a 3.5 year old
There are several places the have preschool aged classes, it's fairly common.
I looked into a few - $100/month is a good price! Most of the places by me are more.

Ours is $130 a month for three times a week. It's a half hour when they're young, then goes to 45 minutes, then an hour.

We go to Waverly Martial Arts in Patchogue. Great class and they are really good with the kids. They do a "test" to see if the child would be a better fit for the special needs class. And if things change they do move the kids into a typical class.
They have the students from the leadership class assist the kids one on one. So almost every student has at least one sempei to help them in the class. It is a great setup.

My ds goes here too. He's in the 5-6 year class. I think we pay either $130 or $140 a month. He goes 2 times a week for 30 minutes each time.
